Closed at 10pm on a Friday and everyone was ordered to leave because the landlords had ordered a takeaway. Disappointed in the new ownership entirely.

Have just visited this pub on a Saturday lunchtime after not having been for 18 months and was very disappointed. It wasn't the tastelessness of my meal (salmon and crab fish cakes, according to the menu - but you couldn't have told that from the taste, sitting on a bit of sad and oily iceberg lettuce with a few tiny dice of cucumber) that spoilt the experience but the complete lack of interest of the staff in their customers enjoyment. The person who served us came and asked if everything was alright so I replied that actually it wasn't because my meal was tasteless and my reply was totally ignored (!) When we paid at the bar we remarked on my disappointment with my meal and were told " but everybody loves the fish cakes". The customers create a nice friendly atmosphere and there's nothing wrong with the beer but although this is the closest pub to we live there are plenty of other nice pubs nearby where the staff are much more interested in their customers enjoyment so we won't be going again any time soon.

June 2009 - Recent beer festival had about 20 to try. Pig Roast was good too. Although a Greene King pub, he usually has a reasonable guest on.

I dropped by for a very quick drink on a Saturday lunch time. Pleasantly busy and fairly friendly. Beer looked okay for a Green King pub (GK IPA, Moreland and Ruddles Country), but didn't try it. The blackboard menu appeared to lack vegetarian options, but I didn't see the printed one - so check before you go if you're vegetarian and looking for food.
I'd visit again for beer if I'm in the area.
