Now the Mad Hatter. You have to ring on a bell and answer a (very easy) riddle to gain entrance and inside, there is something of the atmsophere of a New Orleans speakeasy. Quite fun overall although the music wasn't great and a FJ worsened it still. A group of women out for a birthday do were treated to a bubbling cauldron of a cocktail with 12 straws. Old Hooky in bottles is as far as the ale conversation can go.

Closed on our visit on Friday evening. No sign that this was temporary.

Has new landlords now. Very friendly relaxed pub! Excellent music and weekend events. Redecorated but still the same chilled atmosphere, Well worth calling in, see them on Facebook! =^)

One of the best pubs in East Oxford. Great for a relaxed Sunday afternoon drink or a night out on a Friday. Pool, funky tunes, nudie lady toilets and a big fluffy cat. What more could you want?

Good pub, quite cosy. Often has a DJ at the weekend (but usually chilled and not too loud and intrusive). Friday nights can be quite packed, often quieter on a Saturday. Small smoking area at rear.

Brilliant pub, good mixture of students and locals with various novelties: one and a half pints of ale, funky jazz music on Fridays, comfy sofas, pool table, mood lighting and 1950s lingerie model pin-up girls adorning the toilet walls. Not to be missed!
