Corridor, Oxfordback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Appalling and even more so given an earlier commenter's informing us that this used to be a decent pub called The New Inn. In a prime position on a road full of character, this is an absymal blot.

Expensive and utterly charmless. Looks like an airport lounge inside, but you can get cheaper pints in the airport Wetherspoon's.

Back in the day, this place used to be The New Inn and it was a great place to go, with real character. It was a favourite hangout with local music legends like Radiohead and Supergrass and because of this, it always felt special, even if there weren't any celebrity appearances.
Now it's another washed-out, bland refurb with no character. I haven't been in here for a few years - it was actually quite presentable when it first opened but these days it looks run down and could do with a good clean.
Anyway, I went in early on a Saturday evening with a female friend. It was quiet, mostly populated by a row of tough-looking middle-aged men standing at the bar with arms crossed, watching the football, and a few people out on the narrow outside terrace. I was slightly unnerved by one extremely drunk bloke coming up to the bar next to me, muttering in a low tone what sounded like some expletive ridden abuse about the colour of my purse. All in all, there's a real mismatch between the venue and its clientele. We left soon after my encounter with the purse-hater, and I won't be back again.

Used to be called The New Inn. Had character and interesting locals back then. Was known for great music and as a hangout for members of the famous and not so famous Oxford bands. No idea what it's like now... been a while.

Nah, I think that was the City Arms up the road, can't remember what this one was called before Corridor but apparently it was pretty rough.

was this the Philosopher and Firkin at one stage?

Agree with the last comment, the barman seemed ok but it was a bit like drinking in IKEA.

The barman is totally without personality. The pub has no atmosphere at all, the only positive about the place is the patio area outside, where you do a spot of people watching. Avoid !
