Went in here instead of waiting on railway platform for half an hour, what a mistake that was, smelly, foul beer, oiks, and rude indifferent staff. Nearly got into a punch up just by sitting at the bar silently minding my own business reading a paper, the potential assailant backed off when I arose from my stool and I offered to teach him some manners outside (I'm six four and big) I then left NEVER to return. One of crappiest foulest holes I've ever been in.

Have travelled country watching footie and this is literally the worst pub have ever been in, dirty and smelly inside, staff rude and arrogant and full of inbred nutters whom never seem to venture out of blackwater. At the end of the evening (of what seemed an eternity) the landlady stood up, just from being hammered, and shouted I have had your f'in money so now all f**k off you c**ts!! Nice. Full of scum and thats just the staff. Should have been closed down, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

this pub could do so much better very samll quantaty of beers and spirits run's out easely makeing the selection very small. In its favour it has one of the better smoking areas i have seen with outside heaters and outside TV, so you can enjoy a pint and a fag and still watch the match!!!

I missed the train to Reading last year so thought I'd neck a quick pint in the Royal Swan to pass the time.
Pretty run down, poor selection of ales and the trance-techno tunes were up to ear-bleeding levels. However, I did get chatted up by a prostitute, which was most amuzing.

First time i went here was when i was 16 with my dad and there was a fight, with pool cues i might add and i could just about decifer some other words other than f*ck and c*nt.
Went here a while ago for a pool night though and as you can imagine it was the sort of place i went into thinking, wonder if we are gonna get trouble tonight?
Had a great time though... the locals who we were playing in the pool league were a good laugh and we beat them but there were no hard feelings, they put on a great curry for us too.
Having said this its not the sort of place i would go to on my own (some of the people on my own pool team you just wouldnt mess with... makes it that much safer).

This place doesnt generate a great deal of life for some reason. The people here mostly seem to be locals. Not many ales available of note
