Traditional Sam Smith's pub.

Great, traditional pub with reasonably priced beer.

Probably the only place to go for a quiet undisturbed pint in Selby. As mentioned it is a typical Sam Smiths house with their bitter on at £1.80 a pint.

Typical Sam Smiths pub with the exceptions in that its clean and tidy and very well kept. Very friendly staff and a great Landlord/Lady.,. One of the 1st places I choose to drink in Selby.

A welcoming pub with a barlady (or landlady) which is a true gem of a character. A large Sam Smiths pub, open fires, cheap ale, and comfortable, what more can you ask? Well worth a visit

I actually agree with coverpoint on this one !! its a decent pub in a town crying out for a good pub... lovely warm fire was on the go and this pub was full of young people getting the most for they're money.
The beer was well kept and at 1.49 a pint what more can you say... and after the awful previous pub this was welcome !!

Sam Smiths pub, therefore cheap and adequate if you find Sams ales palatable. Quite a roomy place on the high street. One of the better places in a town struggling for decent pubs.

Believe it or not, this was is the only pub (or anything else) where I've eaten swordfish! But it was a very long time ago. It it's also the first pub where I ever saw a video-jukebox c 1984. A few years before, when I was teaching in Selby, this was where all the kids went so I avoided it. Better now, I'm sure!
