I walked passed this place for five years while I worked at the Job Centre Plus at Rufus House on the same street and first went in when I was leaving the job!!! I wish I had gone in sooner as my farewell lunch was really tasty and a good size too (Chicken/Bacon/Mozzarella Panini with a generous side salad and nacho chips on the side). To drink we had a number of jugs of Woo Woo cocktails and some other pineapple and banana thing I cant remember the name of!!! Anyway, I wish I had popped in sooner and guess I will have to now meet my old work friends here when I come back to visit them. Highly recommend :-)

Visit here every Christmas when we go shopping in Carlisle and it never lets us down. Lovely food, good specials, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Perfect start to our shopping trip!!!

Had my lunch here today and must say the staff were absolutely fantastic. One girl was so chatty and nice I ended up giving her a 2 tip. Not sure if I can mention her name! Most places nowadays you are met with terrible customer service and you can tell the staff want to be somewhere else but at this place everyone is smiley and happy which suggests it is well run and the staff are treated well.
The food was excellent and the coffee was really good. The girl who served me said they dropped a main brand as their supplier a few years ago and instead ran with a brand they thought was tastier and they now try to buy fair trade or local if possible.
Will definetely go back everytime I'm in Carlisle

I was dying for a pee and a coffee while touring Carlisle and nipped into this Cafe to find the toilets were outstandingly clean. That is always a good indication of whether to eat there or not so I did. I wasn't disappointed, Tomato & Basil Soup with a Chicken, Bacon & Mozzerella panini melt. Set me up for the day. Also reco the cafe two doors down run by a lovely old lady if you want a full English breakfast. Peter.

Lovely little find in nice surroundings. Cathedral and Museum close but best part was the coffee they do for just 1 first thing in the morning and late afternoon. Absolute steal

Not a pub as such but trendy continental style all rounder pleasant enough, nice area , coffee good! Live music now and again!

It sure does make great coffees but being a frequent user of the place I must point out that Elisa sold Cafe Sol to a lad called Rob neerly two years ago and he has really taken the place to the next level.
That end of carlisle is getting better every week and people are starting to realise it, weve all tried the Botchergate thing and half of them are selling up anyway!
Me, Beki and my Art College friends John and Mark go in nearly every Saturday night regardless of whether there are any gigs on that end of town because it is that chilled out and plays proper music!

this place makes the best caffe latte ever and mocha's great vibe bout the place and the owner lisa is a cool girl with top artwork in the place

Has a studenty vibe, I really digged it

I never used to go in despite living in Carlisle all my life until me and my mates entered a pro evolution soccer tournament which was a right good laugh even though we all went out very quickly! We pop in all the time now and always have a good laugh. Not a 10 but around an 8 seems fair.

Hired the place for a private party for my mates birthday, it was spot on for what we wanted
