Large array of ales, many from their own microbrewery. The Captain had the Tigers ale which was a pretty average brown bitter. They gave me free after eights which was nice; and the prices were very cheap. 8/10.

A fine array of real ales available and at value for money prices. Well worth a visit on your tour of the area. I had a lemon flavoured beer which was very refreshing on such a hot day. This will definitely be added to our list of return visits.

A good find when I called in last week - friendly welcome for a stranger and a good atmosphere all round. 12 handpumps of which 10 were in use. A choice of own-brewed ales, one at 3.8% and the other 4.5%, priced at two pounds a pint. The barmaid (landlady?) actually asked if I was a CAMRA member and in the affirmative gave a 10P discount on a tasty, well-kept and already very cheap pint. I will return when next in the area. Within 5 minutes walk of the Mallard.

Visited this pub yesterday on a visit to Worksop.Possibly the best I went in.Very friendly landlady who was understandably chuffed they had made the Good Beer Guide for the first time and quite right. Six top quality real ales on and at 1.70 a pint remarkable value. They also brew their own.Accommodation is also available.Highly recommended

A friendly, lively, community pub without much real ale custom and this lack of turnover showed in their beer quality. I still liked it though.

we visited this pub a short while ago for the first time. we were made welcome, and were introduced to the cask ales [on request]. It didn't feel like a pub in the lounge. Its more like sitting in someones front room, it was that comfy! also glad to see someones mentioned the cheap ale. I'd not seen beer at their prices for some time. top marks, guys.

It's been well over a year since we've been here.. Know that I back to visit relatives for over Christmas I thought I'd pop back and see the delightful Suzi and her lovely family.. they just make you feel so welcome everytime we visit. I was interested to see the range of casks has increased.. All brewed at their mirco brewery in Retford. As ever Suzi was knowledgeable on her products and the wasy she speaks about them she has imensed pride in them as well. She also told me that she is getting alot of real ale drinkers in now.. and they keep coming back. Over again for Christmas & NYE so no doubt i'll be working my way through them all. AGAIN 10/10 for the beer & hospitality!

Nicely appointed and very much a well-supported community pub. Nice to see local beers on the bar, although I understand that they are contract brewed until the Grafton brewery is up and running very shortly in nearby Retford. Good beer and good service. Who could ask for more?
|
Been into the Grafton over this festive season and have had a brilliant time. The atmosphere makes realise that there is hope for pubs as traditional as this one. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, from the staff to the customers. Spending NYE in here and can't wait. No doubt it will packed to the rafters as it always is. Bytheway DJGaz the bar stools went a very long time ago, according to Suzie at least 4 1/2 years ago. They annoyed her as much as the customers, so off they went! Get yourself in again and you'll be surprised what they have done in the past 5 years. Not many landlords last that in Worksop so she must be doing something right.
|
Good little pub. Cheap beer ! Last time I was in quite a while ago now, one thing that bugged me is the regulars sit on stools at the bar and when it's busy you have to more or less sit on their knee's to get serverd coz there's no way they will move. lol.

just had to let people to know that The grafton Hotel is now brewing their own real ales. They have only been brewing it got a couple of months apparently but it has already won 2nd best in show at the North Notts CAMRA Beer Festival. Fantastic real ale, lovely pale honey colour, 5.5% and all The Graftons Real Ales are 1.00p a pint. The others available if i am correct are Lady Catherine and Grafton Grog. if in you are in Worksop please pop into this place, it has easily got to be one of the best local pubs in Worksop, just wished i lived nearer to it.

we had to come back again, just had to. this pub is always busy, very friendly atmosphere, go in as a stranger, come out with friends. a tradtional english community pub, no clicky atmosphere, just a lovely pub to be in. very clean, friendly and polite staff. a credit to suzi, and her family.

what a cracker of a pub this is. Suzi, the manager is a little gem. The hospitality we received made us not want to go the football match. The beer was fantastic and with stones at 1.30p a pint it made it taste even better. brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. we will be back again sooner rather than later!!!!
