please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Just had drinks here and the service was good and the beer excellent. When we had a beer pulled up that looked fine the barman asked us to check it as thought it was coming to the end of the barrel. We checked and it was coming to the end and it was readily changed. One note of caution, I saw several pints going to the restaurant which were well short of full measure so beware of this. Great views and good location.

Well lovely bar restaurant food is expensive and nothing special either Lager was old stock tasted of vinegar but was readily changed but great views and can be lovely to sit out ,, note of caution they are adding accomodation to turn it into a hotel i belive 20 rooms so maybe they are moving away from typical drop in drinker open for June 2012 maybe optomistic. its expensive to drink also but that keeps the Stagg hen nights out etc which cant be a bad thing .Lets see if theres increases in prices to pay for alterations etc .

I make an effort to visit the Lewinnick whenever I'm in Newquay, and have yet to be disappointed.

The views across to Fistral beach are absolutely awesome, and the waves crashing against the cliffs below the outside terrace make alfresco dining incredibly atmospheric.

Miraculously the food and service are actually on a par with the location. The kids menu is very good, and some of the specials are pretty unique (the starter of bbq pork with squid was an amazing flavour combination).

I would love to finish with some criticism in order to balance this review a little bit, but I can't find anything bad to say about them. Maybe next time...

superb pub, great views and away from the nuttiness of newquay town centre. would have given it a 10/10 if they hadn't modernized the place

As Newquay is generally full of chavvy stag/hen parties, the good places need to hide themselves away. The Lewinick is certainly off the beaten track and, looking like a shack at the end of a dirt track, does not look all that alluring.

Once inside, though, things are much better. There is a good range of [4] local ales. The food aims higher than most other pubs in Newquay. There is sky sports and a pool table. There is a decking area with great views to the ocean.

A few notes of caution. The ale is expensive at 3.10 - 3.20. The beer I ordered was cloudy and tasted off but was readily changed. The fishcakes were a bit on the dry side and the food is a tad expensive. There were several dogs (canines!) in there.

Definitely a place for the more discerning Newquaian! Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Amazing location with wonderful views, just a shame about the overpriced dog food.

We both love this pub with great beer views and nice interior , booked table whilst in for a beer and arrived three days later to be told no record of booking when it had been clearly rubbed out in the book as could be clearly seen.
Had to then wait over an hour for a suitable table which meant eating at nearly 10.00 in the evening. However will go back during trip in October as we like it so much.

Visited the Lewennick in April 2009. So good I went back for more. Fantastic views, excellent (and I mean EXCELLENT) food, great service and wide choice of beers. Where to start ... plenty of parking ... fantastic views ... light and airy layout ... terraced seating outside ... separate bar and restaurant ... Skinners on tap (I recommend Keel Over) ... dogs and children welcome ... free internet access ... food to die for ... friendly and attentive service. I can not recommend this pub highly enough. I will visit again.

Had my wedding reception here about a hundred years ago. It was a little bungalow guest house with a license in those days. Now it is considerably extended and is still a great place for dinner and beer overlooking Fistral Bay.
Delightful terrace, where you can sit out on a warm summers eve, should we ever get one, and enjoy the sunset. Well recommended.

This is a terrific pub/restaurant in a gorgeous spot. The sea views are magnificent and the food yummy. The Sunday lunch is very good. Definitely worth a visit. We always go several times when in Newquay. Very friendly bar and restaurant staff.

Arrived at this establishment after a long walk from Crantock with our dog. We saw the lodge on the headland in the distance and were a bit worried - was it open? - why did it look so forbidding? We were delighted to find our misgivings unfounded! On walking through the door we were immediately warmly welcomed by the recently installed bar-man from the North. He had no objection to our dog (on a lead) or us (in our rather damp walking gear), and instantly got our canine friend some water without being asked. The beer (fresh barrel of Skinner's Cornish Blonde), the service and the food were all excellent (although the last was a bit expensive, it was definitely a significant cut about normal pub food). The ambience was also extremely pleasant, with varied but not intrusive background music. I heartily recommend this place if you want to visit somewhere with a bit more style than the majority of the competition, and if we return to visit the area this will definitely be on our list to revisit!

We have just got back from 5 nights in Newquay, and this was the only pub/restaurant we went to twice, because we enjoyed it so much. Just the right balance of delicious food, good presentation/decor/layout, varied daily specials, friendly service and the most amazing views from the Pentire headland. Go about an hour before sunset, have a drink or two on the terrace (indoors if wet...) and watch the sun go down. Then move inside for dinner. Recommend booking for the restaurant at weekends.

The most fantastic position on the headland. 80 ft above the atlantic ocean and clinging to the edge of the cliff! Best food in Newquay.
