Black country ales pub - doing more or less what they all do - usual BFG, Pig on the Wall and Fireside and then a few random ales from breweries from around the UK.
Nice building, converted from C17th cottages - bar to left, snug to right and a pool room on the back.
Good Beer Guide 2019.
My Fixed Wheel Shell Corner looked dreadful, completely hazy.

THE DUKE SHUT DOWN IN MAY 2008

this pub no longer sells highgate mild or old speckled hen

A comfortable, friendly pub with good range of well kept beers. The Highgate Dark Mild is a real gem and from now on I'll go for this rather than the bitters.

After a dire trip to the Stumble Inn on the MILD trail it was a welcome return to this classic old watering hole where the landlord keeps the excellent Highgate Dark MILD.

One of 12 pubs on this years Walsall MILD TRAIL. A very well kept pint of Highgate Dark MILD was pulled on my visit last week. The display cases full of model lorries are of interest here. The pub has a very friendly atmosphere. The two small rooms at the front are nice and cosy, at the back is an enormous room but I've never seen anyone using it.
