Met with RogerB here at the start of a very pleasant Sunday country pub crawl.
This is a village pub with 70s bar decor - mock Tudor and swirly iron work, red pub carpet. There are two rooms - the one on the right is a games room. Three casks available - Courage, Pride and the ever splendid Harvey's. Free Sunday bar snacks were offered. This is a nice enough place worth returning to as the base for future walks in the area.

My visit to the Wheatsheaf was an excellent one, had a fantasic pint or two of Harveys followed by some chit chat with the various interesting village characters. I was given a warm and happy reception by the landlord and engaged in conversation with the friendly landlady, had a real family-run feel to it which added to the authenticity and country feel of the place. The landlord and land lady's daughter was serving behind the bar, probably the best and most skilled barmaid I've ever seen, incredible! And the dog was fantasic. 10/10

Situated directly opposite the Bell, the Wheatsheaf is the larger of the two pubs in the main Village and is the one that immediately catches the eye with its front patio bedecked with benches and umbrellas. The U-shaped interior is divided into a main bar and a spacious games room off to one side. The interior appears to be little changed with a 70�s style bar frame and quite dated d�cor that does at least have a certain charm. The carpeted main bar has a couple of old fireplaces, � frosted windows, beamed ceilings, old cartwheels, brasses, bottles, jugs and several celebrity photos (for what reason I am not sure). The games room contains a pool table and darts area. 3 Ales available (Harveys, London Pride & Courage Best); I only had the Harveys but quality and price were decent enough. Entertainment ranges from the friendly and over playful dog to, sadly, karaoke. There were at least 3 TVs so I am guessing that it is popular for sport and so on. Certainly a pleasant enough pub and it makes a good base for some of the walks in the surrounding countryside.

I only had time for a quick visit, 2 weeks ago, but from what I saw, it had a good real pub feel about it, I had a half of real ale (I think Harveys) and it tasted the way it should. I will be going back.

Went there the other day. Cracking Service. Always with a smile with the friendly chit chat.
plenty of seating and you can feel the warmth of the place with the fantastic characters from the regulars and the staff.

Nice country pub. It takes a while to get served, which is not good, but otherwise it's ok. Occasionally there is live music. Soul reaction where playing there when I visited - good band, enjoyable evening.

nice pub from the outside shame about the reception inside didnt seem that bothered about my custom a smile may have helped from behind the bar no real ales which you would expect from a country pub.I noticed that the landlady had cotton wool in her ears probably due to the loud music and swearing! very strange
