I visited this pub many times from the 1980's onwards until it closed a few years back. Loverly ladies running it great food & beers. Always avoided the Fleur up the road a dump. Unfortunately the mob there now have it all their own way since the Bat & Ball closed. Its run by a bunch of crooks The menu outside does not state 10% SERVICE ADDED TO THE BILL BUT WHEN INSIDE THE MENU PROVIDED STATES 10% SERVICE.

Three years on and no change, signs still up and looks like a pub so my hopes were high as I approached. But it's all a ploy to fool the unwary, as its very much CLOSED still. Fortunately only a few yards to the Fleur de Lys.

Visited in June and this pub was CLOSED. Word was it is for sale as a private dwelling what a shame.

Former Shepherd Neame house - now a freehouse - and a good village pub serving the local Larkins beers as well as the ever-reliable Harveys. Although mostly interested in the beer, I must say that the sandwiches were excellent too.

Great little pub. Everyone is very friendly and the food and ale are excellent. Always fun to be had.. Pop in and see for yourself..

Seems to be the hub of village life and it's fairly easy to see why. Friendly service and good ale in pleasant surroundings. Much more of a pub feel than it's neighbour down the road, the Fleur de Lis.

I think this pubs changed hands since the preceding reviews were posted. Weve gone there a few times in the past 6 or 8 months. Its a free house now Harveys and Larkins, the dream team! The food is good too although some of it is bought-in. There is even a special deal for wrinklies a smaller main course and a sweet for a fiver. Great value for the dodderers among us. Its a very friendly pub. It is always nice to be remembered from one visit to the next, even if they are weeks or months apart.

OK village pub but nothing really special. I guess it is a "locals only" place really. Take yuor banjo and you will be fine!

The pub is set in the delightful village of Leigh (near Tonbridge). It has a lovely garden. The Shepherd Neame Bishops Finger - on tap (if that's what it is and my memory serves me correctly - it may be something else, but still superb) is excellent. The pub food is lovely - especially the Stilton, tomato and Mango Chutney baguette. M'mmmmmm. The landlady is a living legend. The pub is marvellous for a good and civilised evening out with friends, or even just for a pie and a pint at lunch time, although you won't want to go back to work afterwards. This pub is heartily recommended.

This pub has it all. Good beer, fine wine, Sky Sports, great food. The beer garden is excellent and the Publican and his Missus are great fun. A proper pub.
