As far as modern bars go, this one isn't too bad. Friendly and comfy. No real ale unfortunately.

Usually rammed during the weekend (day and night). Typical commercial bar chain with nitro keg lager, some drinks offers (not many) and extremely poor food - managed to balls up a rare steak (which was allegedly kangeroo).
OK for watching footie and getting p*ssed up on a noisy weekend out if thats your think.
As for real ale... a confused look at the bar will offend

Anyone who goes Walkabout knows exactly what they're getting. Drinks are quite cheap, the food is just normal chain pub food but is dandy stuff. It's a good laugh on a night out and gets pretty busy most nights you head out. Sport is a big thing here and the atmosphere for England games is good (so long as England aint gettin nobbled that is...)

Visiting from Australia and found this pub great fun, cheap drinks and friendly staff. If yr after an upbeat aussie time then this will do it for you.
|
Rubbish, why do people buy into this fake-aussie thing? Wait ages for a pint, it's overpriced 4X in a glass so cold it numbs your hands, then see if you can carry it across the room without some wasted bloke in a burbery cap knocking it out of your hand. And why should you have to pay to get in??

Had 2 vodka and lemonades in there once, served in the tiniest glasses. Neither tasted like they had vodka in and it was so obvious that we deeliberately went to the bar and ordered a neat shot of vodka. The barmaid walked the full length of the bar to get a shot of Vodka rather than use the bottle directly behind her. And it still tasted like water.....be warned there!! Youre gettin ripped off.

im not into Walkabouts.... mainly cos i was refused entry at the one in Angel cos i wanted to pay admission in 10p's and I then had to walk home alone and i got beaten up and stabbed and ended up in hospital!!!! As such i have refused to enter walkabouts but i went into this one the other day and nothing bad happened.
AS for the DJ comments, one of my favourite derby friends is a DJ for this venue and he is not up himself and he is a pretty decent act (check him out at Bar v on weds and sats). Yates DJs are up themselves and so is everyone in there!!

Best place to end up at in Derby. Live bands on most Saturday nights. Great atmosphere, not too many tossers. Can get very busy at the bar. Walkabouts have a good formula and it works here too, usually a 'must' for a weekend night out.

Went one night a while back and saw "JUNCTION 34" playing live, would be great to see them again, an excellent night out * * * * *
