Walked past last night and the place is boarded up with closed until further notice written on the boarding. Looks like yet another person has tried and failed to make this place work. It's a pity as the woman running it seemed to have got it ticking over nicely. It was never packed but was always reasonably busy. Think this place has had it's day as a pub and needs someone to try something different now. It's just that bit too far off the high street to poach custom from the bigger chain pubs. Lets face it one less pub in Sutton town centre is not a bad thing even if it was one of the better ones.

This pub stands well apart from the other pubs in Sutton. its classy, attractive, has lovely atmosphere and its very comfortable. Drinks are a bit pricey but I think its worth it to drink in a decent pub. A great find!

Well, what can we say......this is a cool bar ! Beer spot on, decent wine, good food, superb landlady. in the pubs defence, the review dated 8 nov was in our opinion a definate one off regarding lots of leering drunk men, as we always seem to see an equal balance of men and women in the bar.
The only comparison between ikea and the academy is they both sell good value food.
Why have you stayed ananymous !.......do you run another pub in sutton we wonder.

I love this place the staff are freindly and the food is great, the sofa are so comfy you dont want to get up. best place in sutton.

This is most definately the best pub in Sutton. There is a great range of wines and beers and the staff are all really friendly. The food is excellent and the sunday roast is to die for definately worth a try.

Went to the academy last weekend for a few drinks with the girls, I was astounded by the quality and range of wine and champagne available. The bar staff were very friendly and there was a nice welcoming atmosphere. Very classy and by far better then any other bar in sutton.

Went in here with a group of friends and felt very uncomfortable as we were the only girls there. Got a lot of leering by the drunk men and left pretty swiftly. Decor looks likes ikea and bar staff a bit dim. Would not recommend for single females!

Recently re-opened. Fantastic choice of lager including a polish beer (Walthaka?) on tap. Looks ike a refreshing alternative to the deluge of chains in this area.
