under new management since 1st Dec 2011. i must point out that this pub has been changed for the better, no more idiots are allowed in and all the staff including the door staff are very friendly and welcoming. I do like the no nonsence approach by the new landlady. I wish her the best of luck in her venture to turn the pub around from the battle ground we have known it to be fpr the past few years or so. i have called in a few times since Christmas and the change in there is very noticable, i have to say i had a nice pint and chat that dark haired bar staff, which i found to be very charming, even if you dont want a drink, call in for a chat with her ha ha. and i will reccommend this pub to anyone looking for a nice place to have a drink. NO MORE FIGHTING IN THIS PUB.... the last thing i will add is, please change the decor, what is with all the blue?????? it makes the pub seem cold>>>> please go and give it a go, you wont be disappointed

Always bob in to the Jolly for Karaoke and the odd quiz on a Wednesday. Always packed on a Saturday night if Mike is DJing. Pull a good pint and at reasonable prices. Love it!!

Splendid evening spent socialising in this superb environment. Spiffing gathering of regular sociable clientelle. An excellent array of bottled and draught beverages for purchase at competitive prices. The bar persons' really know how to make one feel most welcome with a pleasant smile, superb mannnerisms and a friendly atmosphere is felt as soon as you order your required purchase. Just keep away from the Chunk meister!

run by pam and george a great pub for karaoke and socialising not to be missed at weekend
