Had a dissapointing meal last night with 5 friends. I had the mussels and my "creamy white wine sauce" was like water and tasted only of salt and my "chunk of fresh tiger bread" which was supposed to be served with it didn't materialise at all until I actually asked for it. I thought "you can't go wrong with Eton Mess" I now know differently. The merangue ( I know I can't spell it) was crushed almost to a powder, the cream was oversweetened,(if it was cream) it was supposed to have fresh strawberries but they were very finely chopped and mixed in, I eventually found a couple of.slivers which would not even have amounted to one whole strawberry. It wasn't as though they were busy at the time, we were almost the only people in there.

Unable to attend last Sunday a friends 90th birthhday.they sent me this account of the day. 7 people in the party. had to ask several times for condiments after the miniscule offerings they gave them. Roast potatoes like marbles. 2 mini yorkshires. Carrots like rubber, one lady asked for extra gravy and what a surprise to find later on the 85.00p bill they'ed charged 30 pence for the miniture jug of gravy. the paultry offering of a roast dinner it seems was not enough of a birthday party insult. looks like a place to avoid..

Went in last night - usual landlord gone, beer average, ran out of loads of the dishes in the menu. Won't be back well disappointed.

This pub has now been completely refurbished. It is nice and clean inside with sofas and comfy seats if you just want a beer and lots of tables for eating, beer ok, prices ok, food chain style but what we had tasted great. Not over pricey.

Yes i could,t agree more with pink ladys comments, what really put me off was that on one occasion i popped in for a late night drink with friends.after an evening at the pictures,At 10.30 in the evening you don,t expect to see toddlers and, infants running around.

The pub is very basic, and has nothing interesting about it. Some of the staff are very well trained but a lot of them just stand thier, look glum and stare at you whilst you eat, i do have to say that it is very off putting whilst eating your meal. The pub offers a good play area for the children so its an ideal place to take the kidi's.Also a wide variety of beer, wines and spirits is offered. As i said before it is very basic and the one thing that i feel would make the pub more welcoming is if a bit of music was playing in the background whilst eating your meal, and if you didnt have to go and order your meal at the bar yourself, this way i feel it makes the staff look very lazy and incapable which doesn't look good for the managed company.
