please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Some of the previous reviewers comments still apply. Large eating room and a smaller area for the casual drinker and pool player. Reasonable beers on offer; Bateman's Texan Triple Hop, HSB, Razor Back and aaaagh London Pride. Fullers Honey Dew is still available but in keg. Don't try it - it is very cold and so gassy as to destroy the ozone layer.
The food menu is extensive and above average price. Portions are good size and the veg is certainly fresh as well as actually being cooked - not just a quick dip in boiling water. Well worth the extra expense.

I visit every couple of months when in the New Forest and have never been disappointed. The food is wholesome and quickly served. Pies are homemade and superb plus there is always fresh fish. Beers vary - sometimes all Fullers, sometimes a few guests. On my last visit there was Pride, Brewer's Bragg (a new Fuller's beer), Ringwood Best and the flavoursome Hobsons Dark Mild. All in all a tidy pub!

Wouldn't be too struck on this place just as a pub, however I can recommend the steak and kidney pie, I have ordered it countless times and have never been disappointed. The food is always hot and vegetables fresh.

After the last reviews we thought that we would give it a try as we were down for week despite our last experience. Yes beers ok, but alas nothing else, sorry, wont be back again, tried a couple of times.

Well this has been my nearest pub for eight years so I thought it was about time to try it.
Arrived around 6:30 on a Tuesday, plenty of tables free. Menu pricing reasonable for adult meals, expensive for kids; roughly 9 quid for basic kids' meal plus drink plus ice cream. Order taken fairly promptly, however then waited 45minutes for food to turn up. The lack of anything vaguely resembling an apology suggested this was normal, subsequent conversations with friends have confirmed this. Wife's salmon was excellent, my chicken pie was so - so, complete with gravy with a skin on it and overcooked mushy vegetables. Ordered two coffees, only one turned up; overall standard of service indifferent.
Maybe I'll give it another eight years and try again. :-/

We were on holiday in the area and the main reason we stopped here was because we were told it was dog friendly. Can confirm that it is;you can eat with your pooch in the bar area but not the restaurant, which is fair enough.Staff were friendly enough and the draught Honeydew was excellent.

A fullers pub, but a good range of ales, however a major problem is that there is a bar area and a food area, fine, but on a busy Friday night, when the bar area is full there is nowhere to sit, despite a huge empty food area being free. please let us sit in the lounge....

Good, friendly village pub. Very enjoyable experience

Did try here last week, disappointed to say the least some drunken idiot fell on our table and when I asked for some consideration was asked to walk politely. Drunks in pubs with food dont mix, not for me anyway

Closest thing to a proper pub in Bransgore. Decent beer, food not bad.
|
Nice pint of Ringwood; good selection of wines; extensive food menu including roasts, all of excellent quality and value-for-money. Avoid at lunchtimes if you don't have grey hair: you won't fit in at all!! Oh, and don't bother about booking a table; they lost our booking, but we got in anyway.
|
Its sort of ok just avoid it during a full moon, the locals were seen throwing sticks at the moon during kicking out time
|
The only pub in bransgore that doesnt kick you out at 11 sharpish. They will continue to serve people until everybody has left which is a great thing. Staff are friendly, and theres a free jukebox which is always good.

the carpenters - the best pub in bransgore, not a chance, Tuns is much better, even worth putting up with the arrogant welshman!!
|
Although The Carpenters has become a Fuller's pub, Ringwood is back as a guest beer. The food is excellent and excellent value, it is by far the best pub in the village.

Fullers beers have replaced all the Ringwood and the prices are now 10% higher. The Three Tuns is the better option now.

There are plans in the pipeline to build some apartments on the pub car park. How long will it be before they go after the pub itself?

The Carpenters Arms, looks like a nice country pub from the outside. When you go in, you discover that the customers come from the nearby housing estate. This creates the atmosphere - and it proves that you cannot judge a book by its cover.

A pub of two halves. One half is the bar area populated by locals. The other half is basically a dining room populated by families. Seemed a friendly enough place and the Wadworths 6X was well kept. Fruit machine. Doesn't open all day
