Brown Bear, Biggleswadeback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
This was our first pub of the day in Biggleswade yesterday. It is now called the Pembroke Arms. Clearly it has had a makeover since its closure and it is now quite bright and airy. Although any character it may have had appears to have been lost. The barmaid was friendly and gave us paper and pencils for our young charge who was accompanying me on this occasion. Whilst this is a Marstons house, they also had Pablo's Princess on from the Potton brewery. The 2 Marstons ales were Pedigree and EPA. I went for the Potton beer, which was ok. Although I'm not a great fan of pale ales.

Regrettably the fatbadger review was written when the Brown Bear was a tickers/scoopers haven before Mary moved on to the Lower Red Lion in St Albans.

I dont know who wrote the review I found on fatbadgerdotcodotuk but it paints an inaccurate picture. Reality was just Pride, Abbot, Gkipa. Friendly enough landlord, but unexeptional pub. Pool table to the rear, a couple of very distressed picnic sets in the plainly paved terrace (think back yard) outside.

The Brown Bear is the place to go, just resently had new landlord. Has bands on the odd Satursday evenings and also has Karaoke on Sundays. But not every Sundays, the next Karaoke night is on Sunday 6th April 2008. All beers in the Brown Bear is serve well and taste nice. Also does rolls and you alway get warm welcome to the Brown Bear. No rudeness here.

Quirky pub close to town centre but you'd miss it if you weren't looking for it. The beer's in good nick, there's a friendly welcome. Add this to The Rose if you want a real ale crawl in Biggleswade without having to drink Greene King IPA (and who wouldn't?!).
