We were lucky enough to be there on beer fest weekend featuring their full range of 12 beers. Agree with Rocky53 that the beers are a bit malty but the stout and gold scored high.

Great location for train spotting but only 3 each way in high summer. The brews were interesting but a bit too malty for my taste. Best was the gold. However there are 13 regular brews so another visit could find a different range. Very popular with campers as the pub has its own site.

was taken to this pub by a friend who lives in the village when staying in north wales on holiday. 3 beers on by the mirco brewery.the beer i that was very good.

Stopped off here between trains on the adjacent Welsh highland steam Railway. Wish we'd had longer. What a superb beer! We (from the deep south of England) were made very welcome by the locals

I agree building poor but beer and staff fantastic. How could you not like this place and I too like previous reviewer have been ripped off by the nearby pub

Went in twice August 2010, after being ripped off by the Cwellyn Arms just up the road.
The real ale was good and the food was both good quality and quantity.
A bonus was it's location, right on the Welsh Highland Railway - steam trains and real ale !
The staff were pleasant and helpful - we were in a B&B up the road and needed a taxi, which the staff organised for us.

Perfect location, next to Welsh Highland Railway station. The beer is usually excellent, couple of beers from their microbrewery and a nice guest real ale too. Staff are pleasant. The food used to be lovely, a bit plain, but home made and well priced. Don't know what has happened in the last year or so, as the food is now quite simply; awful. I had a "Welsh Black Sirloin" last week and I know that it wasn't Welsh Black, it wasn't even worth mincing. My wife had the Lamb roast, and it looked and tasted like something from a Hospital canteen. The meal we had eaten there a few months back was equally dire. Simple then, Good Beer, nice staff, just don't eat there.

LThis is a fantastic pub. What on earth does this Cleversaz mean ? The food was lovely and there is nothing wrong with the bikes. Stay at home in future.

Can't agree with Cleversaz. It's not a pretty building, but the food I had was fine and they had excellent beers on offer, and those are the most important things. The ambience / locals inside the pub were fine too.

Looks like an estate pub or a working man's club inside. Staff share one brain cell. Food leaves a lot to be desired and we were subjected to loads of motorbikes and their fumes as well as their deafening noise which made the food even worse. I'm only glad we didn't stay on the adjoining campsite, as was the original plan, cos it was full of kids and I know we'd have ended up in this crappy pub every night which would've made the general stay in North Wales even more miserable.

An ambitious attempt at a restaurant, brewery, and campsite that suffers from overextension. Beer is great, food horrible, layout strange, service friendly but sporadic. 6/10.
