Almost 2 years on, I returned to the Polhill Arms to find it open, unlike the Jackal at Thurleigh, the Plough at Bolnhurst and the Horse & Jockey at Ravensden which were all closed on my Saturday afternoon visit. I did however managed to fit in the Victoria at Wilden (not listed on the site) in between. But the Polhill Arms has been voted CAMRA cider pub of the year 2016 for North Bedfordshire. So I was keen to visit. It's a Greene King pub that had Hardy & Hansons Kimberley Bitter, Belhaven IPA & Westgate Fireside as ales. Ciders were Westons Old Rosie & Rosie's Pig & Thatchers Heritage. Locals were watching live Premier League football. Certainly a decent pub and I can now enter a more realistic rating of 7/10.

This pub is currently closed for refurbishment. Will try and visit it later in my life. But for now, you cannot get a beer in the evening,

Fairly good range of beer at competitive prices. Bar staff efficient and friendly. Like the previous reviwer said, it's difficult to get to, I went there on a bike ride and it is around 3 miles away from Bedford.

Very good pub. Beer is absolutely spot on. Hard to get to unless you're driving though!

Popped in here whilst on a charity bike ride and was pleasantly surprised by this little pub. Nice welcome and friendly atmosphere around the bar. Will have to pop in again sometime soon.

Welcoming pub. Attended for quiz night, good fun.

Had a lovely lunch here today, roast chicken and chips, peaceful for a weekday lunch. ALso has outside seating and a car park.

This is a small but cosy and welcoming pub which had an open fire when I visited in December, prices were very good and had a nice atmosphere. Very good for families too.

Very nice pub, quite cheap for drinks, serves lunch time snacks during the week which i must check out and also a sunday roast, has a seperate smoking and non smoking rooms, a plesant place to have a drink with a friendly barmaid.

Friendly atmosphere, ideal for families on a lazy Sunday afternoon. With a playground and regular entertainment, great food including traditional fish n chips on a Friday and Sunday Roast and being only 5 mins from Bedford town centre you can retreat to the traditional values of a proper English Pub.
