Picturesque pub a few miles outside Callander: walk there along the old railway line if you can. Three draft ales are brewed in their own brewery: nice enough but nothing earth shattering. Food was decent enough: fairly standard pub fayre but freshly cooked and decent portions. Friendly service, and with a big garden for the summer. Decent mix of families and hill walkers. Worth calling in if in the area, and it looked a lot nicer than the other venues in Callander itself.

Great Sunday lunch when stopping here after epic drive through Glencoe and the Trossachs. Beer brewed specifically for the pub and a very respectable bottle choice, largely explained by fantastic Scottish Real Ale shop adjoining the pub.

Great place to stop and eat. food is proper pub grub but really well done. beers are also very good and the beer shop next door is well, worth a trip.

Great pub has its own beers waylade, ladeback and ladeout. Didnt like the waylade but the other two were good. Had dinner here it was very busy then listened to a folk singer in the other room.

One slight glitch. On a second visit, a pint of the middle beer tasted quite sour. When I politely suggested that, because it tasted much worse than a previous visit and in the bottles I'd bought, it might perhaps be 'past its best', a member of bar staff simply replied 'that's impossible, we sell it too quickly' and turned away with no attempt at good customer relations. We had to insist that it be exchanged.

I agree with the previous comments. It is worth the stroll our from Callander on the ex-railway-line cycle track to sample the three beers. It is also a fine place to call in after climbing Ben Ledi, a couple of miles to the north.

Very nice pub, the beers brewed for it are excellent and there is a very good selection of 'real ale in bottles'. Very freindly staff and the food is excellent. Enjoyed the Scottish folk night.

Fantastic pub, serving it's own delicious ales. Really high quality throughout, with knowledgeable staff and excelent attention to detail - superb beer & whisky tasting lists on every table for example.

Home of the Trossachs Craft Brewery and wonderful home-cooked Scottish fare. Friendly and helpful staff and very welcoming to children. Log fires and a pleasant garden make it comfortable in any season. 8/10.
