Exceptional food and service. Council house clientèle mentioned in previous posts have been driven out but The Queens Head is now basically a restaurant, albeit a very good one. All tables are laid out for food and are generally booked.
Great for a good meal not so for a couple of pints in a pub atmosphere.

Popped in on the way back from Hastings, and well worth travelling the short distance from the A21. Lovely welcome from the lady behind the bar who offered me a sample of one of 4 ales available: Boadicea (I think it was one of Rother Valleys) plus Harveys Best Bitter, Doom Bar and an American Pale Ale. Will definitely call in again

Lovely location and a nice pub let down by a lack of a full range of ales available (Only had Harvey's best when visited, which was nice nonetheless). No sign of the pikey youths mentioned in earlier reviews and the provision of free roast potatoes on a sunday afternoon certainly gave this place an extra point in teh ratings

Guess things have changed pretty much since the last reviews for this pub. It seems it is finally being run by a professional chef well familiar with county fare. The atmosphere is great and the food is abundant and finger-licking good. Those who have avoided the pub lately should give it another try.

what a hell hole. had decent owners about 5 years ago and since they left it has plummeted!! the current owner is a lazy slob who is more interested in his gimmics then his custermers. a huge sign outside displays there current slop on the menu and curry nights , fish and chip nights and various other attempts to bring people threw the door are on a banner for all to see. for such a beautifull pub in a stunning location you think it will mirror this inside untill you enter and have to walk past a gang of no life council estate pike mingers who spend most of there time running up tabs in this youth club. very dissapointed with the food aswell no flavour and over cooked. country pub food needs to be simple. if you go to this pub not only will be wasting your time and money you will constantly be wishing you had taken the longer journey and gone to the castle inn in bodiam. avoid the queens head completly

Pleasant looking country village pub with easy paking and quiet location, often inhabited by foul mouthed pikey chav scum from the local estate, oh and the beer is expensive as well.
