Roadside Fuller's pub that has 3 or 4 rooms inside and a beautiful and peaceful garden at the rear. Ales were Fuller's London Pride, Gale's HSB & Seafarers & St Austell Proper Job. Nice setting.

I visited this lovely pub last weekend for the first time and I found it really nice. I had three pints of Sprinter which was spot on. The pub was full, which is always a good sign and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
We had a Sunday roast which was a bit expensive but the portions were filling and I will visit again. I would highly recommend it for locals and visitors alike.

Wierd comments from omicky1. Always had great food here, beer top quality, clean toilets. Clients friendly, though I must tell the stable lads they're classified as affluent and overweight. I never realised my Transit was a flashy motor either.

Food second rate with first rate prices, caters for the affluent obese clients who turn up in flashy vehicles, toilets were filthy, beer was ok though.. I shall be giving my money to other landords in future..

Much improved since last visit. The old carpets gone and it's back to sanded wood floors and seats. Good atmosphere, top quality beer, never seen the grimacing old men tho, everybody always seems pretty friendly whenever I go there. Don't know what the reviewer below was on about. I can't think of a better pub in Pulborough. But then there are only 2.

Awful awful miserable place. I don't know how they keep serving, except that the food is so overpriced and baldy cooked. The ONLY good thing to come to this place for, is in the summer, if the garden is quiet you can get a spot at the top and view the downs AND the burger menu. We always end up here however, don't know why. Christmas - log fire, Summer - sun in the beer garden, Out of term time - livelier crowd. General price for a meal for two and a bottle of wine is 50. No-where to sit, grimacing men at the bar all the time not letting you get a drink. There are far better pubs in Pulborough

Pub definitely gone downhill recently. Bit dirty, seats ripped and food pretty poor. Beers Ok though.

We had stopped going here about 18mths ago because the food was so variable but tried again yesterday. On a positive note we received a very warm, friendly welcome. The beer was very well kept. However the meals were appalling. We had two badly undercooked Dover Soles and one scampi with chips that,in our view, had probably been cooked in fat/oil that should have been changed some while ago. We like crunchy vegetables but the broccoli was almost raw. I suspect that many of the items on the menu would probably be fine however I doubt (at least yesterday) they had the expertise to cook Dover Sole...in which case why sell it! On complaining the only response was "I'll tell the chef". We removed the service charge from the bill (on the basis 'service' should include correct cooking!). We will not return!

As promised i went back the white horse on thursday with some girlfriends as there was a band playing called kable which didn't disappoint. the pub was buzzing and a really good amostphere. the restuarant was busy and the food looked well presented. was a very good evening had by all will be back very soon.

My husband and I visited this pub with close friends as they were doing a seafood evening. My husband frequents it regularly for a drink and was impressed with the seafood menu. We had a superb meal / evening and experience , the fish was beautifully fresh and presented in a "restaurant" style. The staff knew what each dish was from the oysters , lobster and crab on offer that night (although my husbands friend is not a seafood lover so opted for the fillet steak without the King prawn!) The restaurant where we were sat was buzzing and lively although for future reference we would have liked to sit in the bar area but apparently you must book early on events and the weekend to secure one of these tables. All in all a great time and we are looking forward to their next event.

`Went there a couple of weeks ago for dinner and the food has gone seriously down hill. Not sure whether it's new chef but i wn't be rushing back to eat.
|
Can be a great pub, but as per earlier comment, watch you don't get to close to last orders on food - otherwise chef will get the hump! - no starters is often his calling... However usually a great atmosphere and ambiance but careful on Friday and Saturday evening as it gets full of supposedly 18+ year olds all drinking alcopops - although to be fair they are quite well behaved. Food is good but always book to sit in the bar or the snug at the back, as the restaurant is a bit souless, and the TV area is the walkway to the toilets and has a constant flow of users passing through.

Well worth a visit just for the Beer. I don't often recommend pubs but have to say although this is a 'Fullers' tied house the beer selection is excellent and always top quality. They always have a guest ale changes very often.

We visited the White Horse Inn, but hadn't been back for over a year, what a transformation! The pub was lively and buzzing. The food and the service was excellent. The real gem on visiting this time was the total change to the garden. The borders are stocked with shrubs. The pergola has been rebuilt with new a seating area. The whole garden is an absolute joy to sit in. One of the sitting areas gives you a great view of the South Downs. I would highly recommend it to anyone, whether they live local or just visiting the area. We will not be leaving it another year before visiting again.

This is a great friendly pub with ample parking and in a great location - with a view of the south downs. I would recommend the roast dinners on a Sunday or if its on the menu a steak and ale pie or without doubt their burgers - these are a speciality, home made and huge! The pub is lovely and cosy in the winter with the fires and the candle-lit tables. The garden is fab in the summer and a great space for children or a group of walkers. A little expensive and you have to book.

Having been here before and had a great time, went over the weekend with friends and family. Although numbering 11, and with a mix up over the booking, they managed to "squeeze us in" - to the completely empty restaurant area - however chef sent a message to say that as we had not booked we were not allowed starters! Our order then arrived without a Steak pie but with an extra chicken, We sent the chicken back but chef again returned it, saying that we had definately ordered the chicken not the steak pie. The waiter also started to get a little offish at this stage. To be honest most of our party saw the funny side of this complete farse and we carried on regardless. Shame though as always thought of this pub as a gem of a find, but realistically it is only average with this type of service.

We ate there last night, and the restaurant was very inviting, the service was excellent, and the food first class. Pumkin, Parsnip and bacon soup to die for! Fullers ales always on tap, and the car park is well laid out on the opposite side of the road, with amazing lighting, accessible footpatch into it - brilliant. highly recommended.
|
This is our "eating out" pub. The extensive menu changes on a regular basis to offer a different choice from time to time. Yes, some may consider it expensive, but we would say you get what you pay for. The food is excellent. If the regular menu's not for you, then try their real home made burgers which are truly outstanding. On top of this we've never been disappointed with the beers which are mainly Fullers and usually a guest beer which are always well kept. If you want to eat, you need to book as it's very popular and rightly so. Highly recommended.

What a gem of a pub! All fullers beers kept to perfection. Lovely atmosphere and olde worlde feel. Food expensive but first class and requires booking. Lovely location. Well worth a visit!

Lovely pub with great view of the Downs from the front windows. Very pleasant garden with lovely view from most tables. Beer range Fullers usually including their seasonal beer and a guest too. Food was over ambitious and over priced for a pub really. Depends what you want I suppose.
