Orange Tree, Baldockback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
My twelfth and last pub in Hertfordshire turned out to be an excellent way to finish the day. This is a Greene King pub in a residential area. There are two main rooms, with a large conservatory area, an outdoor drinking space and another side room. A 60th birthday party was taking place in the conservatory. Being a Greene King pub, it had Abbot, IPA & XX Mild. But there were also 3 ales from Buntingford - Fantashtic, Hurricane & Arachnophobeer, as well as Bristol Beef Factory Bow Street. The two real ciders were Arthur's Bone Dry & Apple Cottage Katy. Both were new ones for me. The former wasn't quite as dry as I was expecting. The latter was more of a medium with a slightly dry aftertaste. The Orange Tree was certainly busy and serves a wide range of people, including diners, drinkers, families and sports viewers. Worthy of a visit.

Heard that a new landlord had taken over so thought that was as good a reason as any to see what the pub is like.
The pub is undergoing a minor refurb but the Lounge bar is quite welcoming with a fire going at the far end and a little music wafting around in the background. Beers are the usual GK suspects and one guest ale. I stuck to the IPA which was in tip top nick. Was quite busy on the Sunday I went in there with a nice buzz going on . Didn't have anything to eat but I must say that the sunday lunch looks tremendous value and there were no shortage of takers during the time I was there. All in all a pub to add to my (sadly short) list of pubs in the area worth a repeat visit.

popped in here for a quick pint yesterday as I had an hour to kill in Baldock, was greeted with a friendly hello and a smile from the lady sitting outside with a coffee, who I presume was the landlady, the main bar to the right as you go in was set up for food so i went to the left, a small public bar, it was only just after eleven am so there where only a couple of locals sitting at the bar, it's a green king house so I ordered a pint of abbott and sat down to drink, I soon got chatting to the two local chaps and we were soon joined by the land lady and after about 5 mins I felt like it was my local, the abbott was in excellent condition and the locals were drinking the IPA so I expect that was okay also, I'd originally just popped in for a quick one but stayed for another as both the beer and the atmosphere were both very good, and if I lived locally would certainly return to try the food and a more lesurely beer

A cozy little place with a fab beer garden. Great to chill out there in the summer. You don't have to bother going inside either as they have a beer hatch which gets opened during sunny spells.
Inside is comfortable but has a tight feel to the side room. It's a good one to go to if you fancy catching up with a mate as there's no loud music or too much dissruption.
Slightly annoying is the fact it's away from the main drag and is difficult to incorporate into a pub crawl. It's a slight point, but worth mentioning.

This really is a very nice pub - I have only been there on weekday evenings when it has been quiet but I hope it gets busy at weekends. It looks very clean and the beer is very well kept.

Had a stunning beer garden though was very quite (in the Longe at least on Saturday night). Hope it was just an off night as this hopefully will be by local!
