Roebuck, Warwickback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
It`s not too far from the station and well worth a visit. Had about 5 real ales on although I was on the cider. It`s a nicely done out olde worlde type boozer, food looked ok, comfy little sitting areas..a good `un!

A little bit chainy feeling but Mrs Mappiman wanted to go here as the food reviews on Tripadvisor were more favourable than the other drinking pubs along this stretch.
It was fine - Barman allowed me to try the Roebuck Ale - which I didn't like, so stuck with an unusual Deuchars IPA - which I was surprised to find in Warwick's oldest pub.
Some photos at my walking blog - 11:43 and its open. Not only that, its been open since 10:30am and its packed.
4 real ales on - I went for Tribute and it was in great nick. Noticed Doom Bar and Purity Mad Goose also on.

Flatters to deceive a little. Stylish enough with its farmhouse-style tables, green/grey colour scheme, part terracotta floors and trompe l'oeil wall art but the food was nothing exciting and neither was the beer. Good enough for a night out but not for repeat business necessarily. Ales were Greene King IPA, Deuchars IPA, Bombardier, Old Speckled Hen and Roebuck Ale (which I think is Caledonian Edinburgh Castle in disguise). All were priced between £3.75-£3.85.

Delightful! Even better than I remember it from the Seventies! (This despite some evidence of "knocking through" - a process I generally deplore.) I only called in briefly and should have come back for a meal when I discovered that the Zetland no longer serves food in the evening. Went the JDW as it was nearer: okay - but lacking the atmosphere of either the Roebuck or the Zet.

Called in here for Sunday Lunch yesterday, cracking Pub with 5 Real Ales on, very friendly and happy staff, and the BEST piece of Beef I have ever had the pleasure of eating.....no thin slices here, it was one giant chunk, cooked to absolute perfection, with all the trimmings, and heartily washed down with a couple of Pints of IPA....HURRAH!!
Recommended, simple as that. If you are in Warwick, then go....

Surprised that this pub is supposed to be the oldest in Warwick and yet nobody has posted a review so let me be the first. Great little pub which serves excellently kept beers and the food was very good value for money. Worth visiting...friendly bar staff which helps. On my next visit up from Surrey I will be back.
