The Cricketers is certainly a proper pub. There is a small main bar and two adjoining rooms. We sat in the boxing room, which with its high ceiling and skylights was quite impressive. The gents is also worth seeing! Nice pub set in a residential area. 3 ales were on - Fullers London Pride, Moorhouses Summer Yarn & Porter Street Oval 6. There was also Old Rosie cider. Worth seeking out. Whilst I preferred Chaplins in Boscombe, this felt more of a pub, rather than a bar.

Probably the best pub in Bournemouth and a long-standing favourite of real ale fans. Not far from the station (walkable) and well worth it. The interior is also worth noting - have a look at the old boxing room with its high ceiling and some nice old windows and panelling. A real gem with a friendly landlady and a really good atmosphere. Three beers including one from the new Southbourne Brewery - all beers were in good condition if a bit pricey for the area but this is probably a result of Enterprise Inns taking their rake-off!! This pub is highly recommended.

We had a great welcome here and the Real Ales well worth the walk to try.

Large old style pub on a residential street. Three ales on - two of which were your usual suspects the third, Goffs White Knight, went down well.

Went in the other month back, one mid-week evening. It was quiet but its a lovely place to visit. A fantastic big Victorian boozer with lots of original features - it hides down a side road near Bournemouth Central railway station.
I think there were 3 or 4 beers on including a couple of common ones (Pride and Summer Lightning?) and something more unusual; all in great condition. The landlady was very friendly. Overall 7.5/10

Pleasant enough place, with two big rooms and a smaller area around the main bar. A couple of ales on offer (nothing exciting, London Pride was one of them), Staff were very friendly, but it was a shame they didn't do sandwiches on a Sat lunchtime, so we went elsewhere after one drink. I don't know if this is every Sat though, as they were clearly getting the place ready for a big evening 'bash'.

great pub, not too small. friendly, good beer, nice staff have gone in there 5 or 6 times now. wish it was near where i lived!

This pub sells the most expensive beer in Bournemouth. Its cheaper on the seafront.

Yeah, this place has swung back and forth over the years between being an absolute dump to being a friendly place with decent ales which is what it is at the moment. Definitely in one of its better incarnations at the moment.

sort of looks like an old mans pub, but really its pretty cool. V.Friendly and only 2 doors down from where my student house is! (i'll let you guess which way.)
