Finally returned to try this pub again last night but the Bombardier on handpull wasn't much cop. My friend's Golden Sheep was no better apparently. Not worth visiting if you're after a pint of good ale.

This is a Whitbread Table Table establishment opposite the Premier Inn where we were stayed. It is very much food orientated. The menu is predictably chain pub and the quality similarly average.

The staff seem to be all programmed to sing from the same hymn book, which I find very depressing.

Only two real ales available. I opted for a pint of the locally brewed Old Hooky, which was served way too cold. In fact, my wife's white wine was warmer than my pint!

The pub is obviously geared up for the Stratford tourist trade. I just hope that not too many foreign visitors go away thinking that this is a typical English pub. 3/10.

I thought the beer was pretty good, but then I love Tetley's, last comment is spot on, it feels like a pub chain, I have been a few times, and it is pleasant enough, one big plus is it does have a very large garden, so if the sun is shining it's a pretty good place to be

No cask ale tonight and as I didn't fancy the Tetley's Smoothflow we didn't stay.

Visited a couple of months ago.
A elderly couple came in and went straight to a table. The pub was not crowded. The staff were overheard to say,"Look at those two, they didn't wait to be seated, make them wait. The staff ignored them for at least 10 minutes. They won't be seeing me again.

On ordering food we were told it would take 45 minutes. Having waited 1.5 hours we queried with the waiter where our food was - he sent over the manager. I feel they may have had this issue before. Starters were only chicken goujons and a plate of bread and olive oil. I asked how long he thought this should take, to which he answered about 5 minutes. He then went to check with the kitchen. He told us starters had already come out (where to we are not sure) and he would chase the main meals. Please note that people who had come in an hour after us had received their food. After a fruitless conversation as to what had happened to our order we left. We managed to drive back to Bilston (near Wolverhampton), go to a local pub, order and get our meal served in less time than we sat in The Red Lion. We were the third people to my knowledge to complain about the length of the wait. Take my advice - DO NOT GO TO THE RED LION IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF FOOD THE SAME DAY!!!

Chain pub frequented by Brummies out for the day. Souless, boring rubbish and the food is/was crap when I last went in there.

This place looks like a great real ale pub from the outside, however there are no real ales served, very disappointed

Beefeater-style chain family eaterie. Only worth a visit for a hot chocolate with a dash of brandy and marsh mallows floating in it.
