I now avoid this place like the plgue, the staff are a bunch of morons, I haven't been in for about 4 months, and I can honestly say that the best hing that could happen to the place since Richard left would be for it to be hit by a meteor. Honestly, the brewery should just close the palce down and demolish it

The place seems to be picking back up again now. Gala day saw it packed as usual, but there seems to be some life in the place since as well

well been a little disapointed lately with the old england...started off very good.. but hasnt returned to its busy status infact its gone quieter shame really because it was good village pub....

I've got to agree with the previous posting. Went back in for the first time in about six months the other day. Richard, the new landlord seems to be a great bloke, and he seems to be running the pub as it should be run. The refurb was overdue, but the place now looks great, and the food is the best its been in my memory.

After refurbishment the Old England has been done out very tastefully,Food is good, lots of old faces coming back in ..."Idiots" have gone....hopefully the Old England will go from strength to strength with the new landlord.Worth a visit :-)

Fear not good people of Bispham, my mate is soon to manage this pub and believe me, he's very good at getting all the w*nkers and ar$eholes out of otherwise good pubs. You'll find it very hard not to like this guy, a great landlord!

Luvapint. If I was you I wouldn't bother with the place now. Janet and Peter have gone, and the idiots who took over from them let all the chavs and w*****s back in. This pair of jokers went within a couple of months, I heard on the grapevine that the brewery sacked them, which wouldn't surprise me really as myself and a lot of other ex regulars stopped going in. I've been in once or twice again since they went and the new landlord seems nice enough, but unfortunately the damage has already been done now. It's going to take him a fair while to build it back up to what it was.

I used to have a drink here when i was on courses at Multibroadcast in Bispham. Will try it next time i'm in Blackpool to see if it's good bad or indifferent

I used to come here for my lunch when I was at Blackpool & The Fylde College. I visited it recently and it wasn't at all in any way acceptable.

This is a great pub with some really friendly staff. Janet, the manageress is always ready to have a chat with the customers. A pub from the Mr Qs chain, it has a wide variety of football scarves up, and while it is largely a Liverpool fan clientele, they're willing to accept anyone. Even a Plymouth Argyle fan like myself.
