The Green Man is situated at the southern end of the small village of Kings Stag. It's a nice brick building with a large car park. The interior has a number of rooms, with the bar in the central room. Only 2 ales were on yesterday during my visit - Butcombe Bitter & Exmoor Ale. I was the first person in. So it was difficult to judge atmosphere and any food offerings. But the dessert menu looked tempting.

This is probably the worst pub that I have been in, expensive, food cooked from frozen, staff rushed us from start to finish. DON'T GO!!!

Excellent food and friendly service. Prices very reasonable for such high quality. Quire a good range of beers and wines available. Pretty busy, even on a Monday evening, so a good idea to book for a meal.

Been here a few times this year and last. Excellent service every time! I'd reccommend it to everyone. They have a HUGE carvery seating area, in addition to their normal area. The italian meatballs are star quality! We just hope it doesnt go down hill if the presant owneres sell up.

Country pub on the busy B3143 Dorchester Rd looks less inviting since the huge oak in front was cut down. 3 real ales in reasonable condition, (Exmoor, Old Speckled Hen + guest) but a tad too cold. Skittle Alley now a carvery, (Sun lunch only) but looks good value. Rest of pub mostly given over to restaurtant food - good but expensive. No value bar snacks. Friendly staff and the few locals at the bar made us feel welcome. Dartboard survives but in eating area and probably only used on Darts nights. Reviewed 18/11/07 & 29/02/08 by SADCATS on Tour! SCORE-7.

friendly pub, decent ale, good selection and well kept. food service a wee bit slow at times.

A big disappointment as we were recommended to visit. Took forever to get served with our food and although it was OK it was not worth waiting over an hour for. Other people who came in after us were served before us - so infuriating. Staff seemed too busy to care and it was just not a pleasant visit. Maybe the pub was too busy for its own good.

Went to stay in Kings Stag again at the weekend and was a bit concerned when our friends told us that The Green Man had changed hands.
We tried it a couple of times over the weekend and I'm pleased to relate that it is still as good as ever - a friendly locals pub with good beer. The Sunday lunch we had was superb - large portions of well cooked food at very reasonable prices.
If only my local at home was like this.

Friendly pub in the heart of the (tiny) village of Kings Stag. Two bars inside and a non-smoking dining room. Outside seating in front of the pub and a new garden at the back.
A rotating selection of real ales are available - all seem well kept. The food is good too with a selection of big and small meals.
There is a skittle alley too.
