Yes, a Tesco is rising from the ashes of this once great centre of chavery & anti social behaviour.A distinct lack of pubs in the area now.I suppose that will mean a rise in the local street drinking community.

I've heard it's re-opening as a tapas bar & community arts centre.There will be a performance space, a creche,& an outreach worker will be available for people with drug, alchohol or general issues around social integration.Vegetarian cookery classes, yoga, incontinence management workshops & darts.The Big Society comes to Hanworth!

This drinking hole is fondly known locally as the 'Doom and Gloom'. I have deduced that this is due the rhyme with 'Horse and Groom', but also the perpetual tributes of putrifying flower bouquets that sadly cling to the railings outside. These remind us forever of the murder outside of a young lad some 5/6 years ago?
Knock this pub at your peril! As long as it stays open it'll keep its clientele out of yours and my pub. As does the Airman along the road.

When talking about pubs, the term 'dump' was surely invented for this place. It's easily pushed itself into the 'worst five pubs I've ever been to' league.

this place is a graveyard. cheaper beer is not going to get me through this door again! the groom had a refit some years ago & proved you cant polish a turd. its not the worst pub in the area but comes very close.
the guv'nor seems sensible enough but he can't too picky about who comes in or it would shut down!!!!
