please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Apparently the Plum Pudding (the new name for this pub) is a type of pig reared in Oxfordshire. The pub is located in a village not far from a busy trading estate, but with a feeling that you're a long way from civilisation. This could have been my favourite pub of the day. But it had a bit of a cliquey feel which produced one of those moments where you walk in and everything stops. Ales were Loose Cannon Abingdon Bridge, Woodforde's Wherry, Kelham Island California Drinking & Thwaite's Wainwright. Ciders were Worley's Mendip Hills & Beatnik Bill & Weston's Old Rosie. There is a small bar area at the front and a larger seating area presumably used by diners to the side. Still a decent pub.

Quite quiet for a sunny Sunday lunchtime but a friendly welcome and treats for the dog. I suspect it would be busier during the week being a short walk away from a large business park. Real ales were Plum Pudding Bitter brewed by Ringwood for the pub, Brakspear Oxford Gold, Loose Cannon Abingdon Bridge and Potbelly Hop-Trotter, the latter two being sampled in the lovely enclosed garden. Food was not tried but prices looked very reasonable and a couple tucking into Sunday roasts gave us their recommendation. Would be very happy to visit again.

Now open again under a new guise as the Plum Pudding and considerably improved. Baguettes are rustic and tasty and a seafood risotto special was very good. Eager to please staff made up for a slight level of cluelessness on the tills that reminded one of the bad old days. Still work to do but a free house with 4 local ales on tap is exactly what this place needed to be. Good to see the back of Greene KIng.

Undoubtedly the worst ever pub food I have ever eaten. Booked Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago, admittedly was told that they didn't do roasts but a good menu was available.

Beer was ok, the pub probably does a good trade during the week due to the large business park nearby but I would suggest the Sundays food served to us was Fridays left overs just reheated.

Awful.

Re-reviewing this due to it changing hands a while back (a cat as old as the ark and prone to leaping atop the benches to get at your burger remains though). Sadly, it's feeling tired now, doubtless due to the lack of effort Greene King put in to their 3,000 or so British pubs. Surprise was the reaction we got on turning up wanting food at 12.30 although service is quicker than it used to be. The garden is a calm oasis.

A no nonsense country local that is within walking distance of the immense Milton park industrial estate and comfortably better than any etablishment within the confines of that sorry mess of warehouses and call centres. Run by an ex boxer, the atmosphere is very friendly and the garden pleasant. The home made food varies from decent to brilliant (especially the home made chilli).

Tucked away in the shadow of Milton Manor, this friendly little pub is frequented by the upwardly mobile residents of Milton village as well as escapees from "Europe's largest business park" Milton Park.

The pub serves good honest home made pub grub which is one of its main attractions. There used to be a jukebox and a pool table but the owners have (unwisely, I might add) decided to get rid of these in recent months.

Another attraction is the landlord who once fought for the British Light Welterweight title - you can see him holding a championship belt in the photo behind the bar.
