This was one of the last pubs of the day on our visit to Penzance and not long before the train home.
I can't honestly remember that much about it though although I can vaguely recall that it wasn't that great.

Busy pub with sport on the telly, good selection of beer (about 5 reals from what I recall), unfortunately the one I chose happened to be on the turn, changed by the landlord (?) once he had checked it himself (and decided it seemed fine).

Decent enough pub recently refurbished with several TV's and a large screen.
3 ales on the best of which I can't pronounce but was Cornish for Longboat.
Worth a visit

On our 3 visits over last weekend, the service and quality of both morning coffee and evening ale (choice of three), were tip top.
Our evening meal deal was excellent value and is commended to you the reader.
If I have got a gripe, its why my dog got table service with his water bowl, but had to fetch my own beer afterwards.

Not a bad pub, handy for the station and up with the times (unlike many in the area) offering free WIFI. Good pint of Tribute plus other cask ales available. Didn't try the food.

Not a bad pub, I stayed in it for a few days, beer seemed well kept, food poor however (fish pie advertised as containing prawns, but in their absence, egg was the replacement!). Agree that Turks Head or Admiral Benbow have more atmosphere, but this one is pretty convenient for the station.

Large pub near the railway station. 5 fairly standard ales on on Monday - I tried the Doombar which was far too cold. Empty at 1700 and very little atmosphere. Might be better in the evening but I'm in no hurry to find out.

I am totally surprised by the previous comment about this pub. I was in there this morning as well. I found it ok. I didn't drink a pint of ale, had a pint of Guinness, and it was excellent.
It is a very big pub and at about 10.45am I wouldn't have expected this pub to have an atmosphere as it wasn't very busy..probably something to do with the fact that not a lot of people drink in the morning.
The pub is very oldy worldy, mainly wood. I believe they have rooms above which are really nice.
I have been here before and always found the staff ok.
I don't understand the previous comment about the ales having ice crystals, I found it quite comfortable.

Good size pub with some sort of atmosphere vacuum in operation. I've never had an iced real ale before (the ice crystals were still floating as a questionable replacement for that brief foamy head), and I will hopefully not repeat the experience. One member of staff (in massive pub - we should have heeded the warning sign and gone elsewhere) was sullen and sneery, which is ill-advised behaviour for a crap barman in a crap pub in a crap area of a nice town full of pubs. Not even worth it for a quick check on Sky Sports News.

This is probably the largest pub in town with an expanded interior that seems to stretch all the way to Lands End. The low ceilings throughout give it a bit of a claustrophobic feel and its open plan set upmeans there is little in the way of intimacy. Wood feateres predominantly throughout which does make for a fairly old world feel although I would hazard a guess that the interior is a fairly modern refurbishment. Beers are mainly Greene King with 3 pumps bearing Speckled Hen clips, and 1 each of Ruddles County and Doom Bar (which was unavailable despite the clip not being reversed). I didn�t recall it being particularly expensive and the quality was fine to me. There are multiple screens, mainly for sport and a separate pool room at the rear. Various forms of entertainment from the good to the bad are advertised on a board outside. A separate dining room is also located at the side in the front of the pub. Before we visited we had walked past a few times and it was never even close to being busy which measna distinct lack of atmosphere in such a vast place which is a shame because it really isn�t such a bad place and certainly worth popping in for a couple of pints.

this pup is ok it is best to go there after you have been to the white lion because on fridays and sauterdy nights they have a disco so you can go have have a little boogie

Yeah, they've got telly but the beer is very expensive and the food is poor. Close to the railway/bus stations but not much else to recommend it. Not much of an atmosphere either.

this pub has no atmosphere at all, the standard of food is poor and drinks expensive. go up to the top of town for better pubs with atmosphere.

Terrific Bar. Food is the best in east Penzance, the beer is at the right temperature and best of all, they have Sky. They will put any sport on if no-one else objects, I saw the 2nd Australian State of Origin in here, even though kick off was billed before 11am. Plus they had had the Lions v Someone, live, breakfast served
