Five years on and changes. Change of landlord and a decent change of beer. Five handpumps dispensing: Purity's Bunny Hop, Dark Star Hop Head, Oakham's Citra, Rev James and, the fly in the ointment - Doom Bar. More people drinking than eating on a mid-week sunny afternoon. Keep up the good work.

Not a lot has changed in the last three years since my last visit (certainly not the beer). Still Brakspear Bitter, London piss and Wadworth 6x making a welcome appearance. Food still average. Don't ask for brown sauce - they do not stock it.

A 'Pub & Dining' establishment which means basically it ISN'T a pub. They seem to expect that everyone who comes through the door wants to feed their faces rather than just have a drink. They did have three ales on - Pride, an Adnams X-mas brew (which then wern't ready) and Brakspears. The brakspears wa sno more than drinkable.

Run by Vintage Inns. Food served throughout the day which is useful to know. It has their usual menu - good choice, good price and good, well, reasonable quality. The three hand-pumps were dispensing; Brakspear bitter, Adnams Green Bullet and the ubiquitous Fullers London Piss.........sorry Pride. The Pride was 2:90 a pint, Adnams a staggering 3:50. Probably more of a foodie pub than drinking.

Used the pub for a family birthday celebration on Saturday and quite enjoyed it. There was a real ale festival going on outside so there was a good choice of ales. Food menu was quite comprehensive and service was friendly - all in all not bad for a big pub!

Has had a recent revamp. Still serves decent beer & food in a friendly atmosphere.

The beer was ok again tonight. 3 ales to choose from Bury St Edmunds, London Pride and 6x. Pride was good. Pub seemed busy as usual.

Popped in for a quick beer but ended up having two as it was so nice. The place was heaving mostly due to mother's day. The beer on offer was London Pride, 6X and Bitter and Twisted. The B&T was lovely hence the two pints.

Tried this place after golf yesterday evening. Not at all bad for one of these Pubco places. Good range of foreign lagers if that's your thing, but I had the Speckled Hen. Cracking pint, if slightly on the cold side, but there are far worse ways to cock up a pint.

Menu has change slightly but still ok. Be careful as the real ale seems to bee off quite a lot of the time. There never seems to be anyone there who can change a barrel. Still good all over though.

I went to this pub last week with my family and had such a wonderful pleasant meal. The pub itself is rather nice and the selection of food is wonderful. Good value meals and good to see that not evening is served with chips. Would definately visit again when in the area.

We are fussy about where we eat and drink, if there is a public bar and it's referred to as the "spit and saw dust" that's o.k. but we don't actually want the spit or the saw dust. Rest assured there is neither of those in this pub. What you get is a friendly service, excellent well prepared food, a pleasant atmosphere and no juke box! Try it.

The real ale has now changed to Bombadier, and it is still very nice.

This is my local pub. I used to be pretty naff buthad a good revamp some years back and has since been very sucessful. The pub has a smoking and none smoking restaurant split by the bar half way through the building. The bar is small but has some seating but restaurants are bigger. Real ale is Adnams bitter and has always been. Three are plently of other drinks.
The food is superb, the menu changes now and then and has some excellent selections at reasonalbe prices. They did have a T-Bone steak available, not sure if they still do.
Staff are friendly. The pub is looks old from the outside and retains that feature on the inside too. They have a bigish car park and a nice out side seating area where you can eat.
Where the pub is is located on the A602 at the south entrance to Stevenage.
My family and I frequent this pub many times a year. I recommend it for both food, drink and a nice atmousphere.
