Fantastic pub, amazing food, good value for money and a very friendly atmosphere. Couldn't wish for anything more. Amanda has done an amazing job with the pub and always has a smile. Finally we have a family pub back in Riseley. What we have been waiting for. We love it!! Well done and can't wait for the garden to be up and running.

Gutted the pool table has gone. Don't remember it being dirty previously (kimcush) Yes nice if you want to eat, but the village pub has died. Sad to see this.

The new landlady has made such an amazing difference to this pub. The landlady made us feel very welcome and managed to accommodate us at very short notice. The fish and chips was said to be delicious by the people in our party who ate it. The children had this too, which was a lovely big portion. The mussels were fantastic. Prior to this visit we would never have gone to this pub which was filthy dirty and uninviting but it is now spotless clean and a wonderful place for regulars or passers by.

What a beautiful little pub, the atmosphere was lovely, the food was 2nd to none, beautifully presented and tasted fantastic...i would highly recommend this pub. Congratulations to the new landlady....perfect evening.

The Bull re-opened last night (17th Feb) with a very enthusiastic new landlady (Amanda) having been closed for a few weeks for a bit of a refurb. The pool table has gone and it is now more of a dining pub.
Our food was excellent - I had the chicken which was fantastic and my wife had fish with some of the best chips we have ever tasted.
Check it out!

Qunno's review of 2008 still sums it up. Good cheap basic food, decent pint and nice homely feel to the place. Not worth going out of your way for but ok if you are in the area

Decent little place, selling a couple of Shepherd Neame beers in decent condition which is an unusual thing in this part of Berkshire.

Have also experienced the lack of punters/atmosphere mentioned below - this place should be fuller than it currently is.

Inside is nicely kept, with nik-naks scattered around. Feels a bit like your nan's front room on the right-hand side of the bar.

Worth a brief stop if passing, perhaps more so on a weekend.

A real bonus for the village with friendly efficient new landlord and landlady keeping a superb pint and serving good honest pub grub in a clean warm local where all are welcome.

This pub is changing rapidly since the new landlord took over. clean and fresh smelling with warm welcome from David and Jan. Excellent meal and good choice of beer. Congratulations on the turn around. Well worth the visit. we will be back

What a disaster for the village. Used to be such a friendly place but now, if you find anybody in there at any time then consider yourself lucky!
There is more atmosphere in a morgue. Suprised that the brewey let it continue in present hands

This ought to be a lot better than it is...looks can be deceptive. Rural village location, but sitting openly at roadside, so passing trade and locals should be flooding in, but at 8.30 on a Saturday night, we were the only customers. Shepherd Neame tied house - unusual for the area, so Spitfire and Masterbrew on pumps. OK, but nothing special. Difficult to generate anything really positive to say from such a flat experience.
