As previous reviewers say, VERY DARK indeed. Grim.

Lavery's is a Belfast legend. Are you a spide or millie? There's a shit club for you. Are you a dark grunging or goth type? The back bar, though not what it was, accommodates you. Do you fancy some pool or a rooftop garden pint, with classic rock and metal to nod along/headbang to? Head to the top floor. Or do you just want a quiet Guinness in a genial atmosphere? Just walk through the front door to the main bar.
Love it.

The first Belfast pub i ever Drank in on my first Trip over in 94(you cant count the Bar of the Airport ) Great Memories of a Bloke peeing up against the Bar. Superb stuff

Sort of a cross between a Yates' and an It's A Scream. Busy when I called in and it's clearly popular and has it's own clientele.

An absolute den of nooks and crannies, each room possessing its own distinct character, though united by seediness. Pool upstairs is accompanied by alcopops and banging tunes from the juke box, downstairs is a haven for the dispossessed - we were rightly ticked off for taking too much about work. The back room...well, that's something else. Not bfor the lily-livered.

Try the Back Bar for a nice quiet afternoon pint of the black stuff.
