A good solid town centre pub with three ales on. Tried the Taylors Gold ale -which was okay.

The Angel is a sweet little pub a few minutes walk from Indigo Alley but almost a world away. This is a proper pub and I mean proper, it's like friends where everyone knows each other.
4 pumps on the bar offering a selection of ales, the wife and I chose the same which was Cooper Dragon's Golden Pippin @ 3.9%.
Carpeted floor all the way through, 2 very friendly bar maids I think they were mother and daughter. A good mix of locals with all of them over 40, no youngsters in this pub.
Just a quick pint for us as I wanted to visit 2 more before the evening was out.
A really nice and welcoming pub.

Second pub of the Scarborough visit. Very friendly bar bloke, and Australian car racing on the television. So far so good. A pint of Tetleys was 3.10, a bit higher than the Black Lion down the road but still fair after London. Can't say the pint was great, adequate at best, but the pub itself was probably my favourite of about ten visited in Scarborough.

Shame about the price of the beer... just took a huge rise..there are cheaper better pubs than this..Cellars..Scholars..The Valley..The North Riding..The sports Bar.

Nice pub, beer always spot on. Had Cropton Two pints on when I was last in and very nice it was too. Worth popping in to look at the collections of saucy postcards displayed on the walls. Great Chippy next door by the way, called Smallfry, probably the best in Scarborough.

I have really enjoyed myself this week in the angel, [probably cos the landlord is away with his very good friend russ in cancun] I think this pub requires a visit from all who visit scarborough. The staff are fantastic and cannot do enough for you, visit on a monday and you will meet our very own anne robinson [claire] who does the monday quiz [early doors only if you don't pay you don't play]. This is the town pub of 2010, Camra. Well i am signing off now i have drank too many fosters, bye! but give us a visit!

Superb Pub. Great Beer and good company. Friendly staff. Nice beer garden n smoke den. A hidden Gem.
|
Top place, friendly landlady and the ale was good. I'd definitely return.

Beer end of the barrel (hopefully) a very nice clean pub, I like this pub and will visit again. The smoking area is very good, warm and tidy(it was cold the day of our visit) bistro style aluminium chairs offset by a chrome shopping trolly, different!

I always pop in here at least once during my frequent visits to Scarborough. An extremely consistent boozer.
Good friendly atmosphere and excellent Tetleys.
|
A quality little place, with a few real ales and frindly atmosphere. Had a nice Copper Pippin and spent an amusing time reading the postcard collection
If you are having a drink in Scarborough, one of the few you HAVE to visit

Nice clean and friendly boozer. Quiet when we went in but full the following night due to Man U and Arsenal being on the telly on different screens. Decent beer.
|
A good quality locals pub, serving some decent ale choices in good condition. Look out for the saucy postcard collection which adorns the walls.
Worth a stop.

Another good local pub always clean and friendly worth a visit.

Thriving locals pub. I popped into this pub on a wet Monday evening when everywhere else was quiet, but the Angel was busy. I was amazed by the number of people who kept coming through the door, everyone knew everyone else. The beer was Ok. An interesting collection of traditional seaside postcards adorns the walls.

Used to frequent this pub a lot when Carol and Albert ran it, great quiz on a Sunday and the beer was quite passable.
