Swan Inn, Wedmoreback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Upmarket gastropub visited about a month ago although it seemed less pub more restaurant as it was an extremely busy Sunday lunchtime. Roast beef was very good as was service, beer was fine although I've forgotten what I drank (I do remember that they seemed all to be local brews rather than national brands).

Used to enjoy it when the old boy was landlord. Pub closed down then reopened. Against our better judgement,tried it after recommendation from a friend.. went in, wedding party in, but 4 ales on. Both of us tried one each. Both pints would've given Sarsons a run for their money.
Would have been well pissed off if my wedding was at a newly furbished pub with shite beer.... sorry if you're offended, I admit I've never ran, nor worked in a pub...but I have 22yrs brewing experience.....

I agree with bessissmith - if you enjoy wasting money come here. Before the refit was a good place.

Just been refitted by Witherspoons, one to avoid unless you enjoy being ripped off. Vile vile vile...oh and the beer was flat !

This used to be such a great pub in the early '90s when Howard was the landlord, must get down to Wedmore again sometime.

Called into the swan on our first night visiting Wedmore for a week.
Despite the manager Jeff just taking over the pub, and us calling in after 9pm, we still received a very good meal.
I had a huge piece of fish, with chips.
The other 4 meals were also excellant.
That good I reserved a table right away for a birthday dinner later in the week.
We asked for a lamb dinner, which was not on the menu, but that was not a problem.
All of us have large appatites, so when we leave food, you know it is large enough.
Jeff also made a great chocolate birthday cake.
Jeff and the barman were very hospitable.

Nice beer garden-though strangely empty on a lovely spring afternoon on Sunday-pub itself is pretty uninspiring
