This was a very nice gay pub. Not that I am a gay man, but visiting here was a fine and relaxing experience which gets away from the hussle and rush of being near the train station. Ashame it has all gone now.

i recently paid a visit to this bar whilst visiting london and was astounded when i accidently found myself near the bar kitchen, where i found a little dog running around the kitchen,i felt sick having just eaten there. myself and my wife left immediatly and it left a bad taste in our mouths and totally ruined our trip. the service and staff were awful too, not friendly and very miserable. Avoid this place at all costs.

Ruth & Alan - I am not a staff member and I have been to a couple of the Friday night discos. In my opinion they have been good fun, yes they play pop music but what did you expect Black Sabbath or hard core house and trance? Come on get REAL !!!! Surely any attempt to liven up what once was a "smelly old mans pub" should be welcomed.

I have visited this pub on a number of occasions and found that the service was excellent. By this i mean there is always enough bar staff to help you and the service they provide is top notch. The jubilee was pretty busy everytime i have been there and the people in the place was overall friendly. Excellent pub for having an after work pint to relax you after a busy day , without the frustrations of waiting half an hour for it.

Who on earth posted the previous 5 reviews?! It must be the current staff, they have to find something to do as they've got no customers to serve & when they have they are rude and dont smile!! i popped in for the friday disco,if you can call ten people and cheesey pop a disco,it was awful. Can anybody tell me where the old DJ has gone?? When he was there the place was packed and was a fantastic night out. Once a must, now a never.

Great food, great service. Friendly staff. In short, Great night out!

The New Management have turned this place around, once a tired old dirty pub this bar and undergone a rejuvenation and has become a really nice place to visit. Reasonably priced with brilliant service you have to pop down during their quiz nights, fantastic fun. I didnt win though.

The Jubilee is a great place to visit for lunch or a night out. I recently popped in on a Friday night and really enjoyed the disco (which I was told is a regular thing). Staff are very friendly and the food was delicious. Great pub!!

where has all the friendly staff gone. Not impressed at all. The quality of food has gone down and the price has gone up. They had no mayonise, how is this possible in this day and age. The previous chef's food was finger licking. The atmosphere is dead and empty unlike the previous management. I am very sad to say i will no longer be visiting unless you bring back the old staff, they made us feel welcome and were very friendly and i think that is more important than making a quick buck.

Im a nurse at St Thomas' hospital and i use to greatly enjoy my lunch everyday at the Jubilee Tavern. The food was ALWAYS of a very high standard and the service was excellent.Since the previous chef left the food is not as appetising and is over priced. As a Nurse i dont have the kind of money to pay the prices they are charging so in future will be taking my custom elsewhere. Its such a shame to see this lovely pub be taken in the wrong direction by the new company.

My opinion of this bar is that it isnt as friendly and as inviting as it was under the previous managemant as the staff were much more friendly and welcoming. It is also of my opinion that a lick of paint does not make a pub it is the service of the staff that run it and under the current management alot of these service skills have been lost. Anyone wishing to drink or eat in Waterloo after visiting one of the many tourist attractions near by would be strongly advised to do so elsewhere. JUBILEE TAVERN R.I.P 30/01/06

NEW MANAGEMENT - The pub seems to be alot brighter they have cleaned up the tired interior/exterior and made the whole pub alot more inviting. The service was friendly - huge improvement!!!!!

Very quiet early on in the evening for some reason. Didnt notice the gay pub talk thing. Dont know if its true. did seem to play a lot of Jolly music. It may be a 'gay' pub but i think others are welcome anyway
|
Does not seem like a gay pub to me though not the ideal place to pull whatever your sexual orientation as it seems to be rather empty.
However friendly bar staff, good beer and funny TV make it well worth a visit anyway

i only have an hour for lunch, my medium steak rare done took 45 mins of that hour to arrive, it was more medium medium when it did. as for the gayness, I went there cos im gay, but i think all the other gays must have been hiding, I spotted only straight people (who i dont mind, but chatting them up gets embarrasing!)if you in a hurry or gay.... go somewhere else!
|
Yes, it is mostly a gay pub although the staff made all of our straightfriends very welcome when we had a reception there following our blessing and registration at City Hall. Alex and girlfriend must have been very unlucky because we think the food is fab!!!!!!!!! Alan
