The only had one ale on (Otter) which was just about drinkable. It feels more like a school tuck shop than a bar though.

Found this by accident, got to the station to find my train was delayed by nearly 30 mins - then spotted this little haven, a lovely place to spend a quick half hour with a pint of lovely cider and the newspaper. Could not have asked for more in the circumstances

Been in this pub before, nice place. Went back recently, arrived before closing time but found them already shut. Had to spend the time waiting on the station platform. Pretty poor as I'd saved time for this pub before my train home.

Closed at 10.50pm on a Friday night? Thirsty travellers with nowhere to go before 25 min wait for train? Shame on you.

A leftover from a previous age when warm pork pies and curled up sarnies were the staple of station buffets, the bat side was full of quality old cider heads quietly drinking themselves into oblivion. Northumbrian beer on Handpump was fine. Top, not somewhere to take your Mum but fine all the same.

This is very much a pub of two halves � one half has a reasonably traditional pub appearance and has a frontage out on to the street. The other half has the appearance of a station caf� (which is what it is) and fronts on to the platform.
Starting with the caf� half, this has a basic run-down appearance, with plastic chairs, a sandwich counter, ice-cream cabinet and a rack of newspapers for sale. Through the stone archway we come to the proper part of the pub. This too has a fairly basic and dated appearance, with some fetching red tile-effect lino around the floor near the bar, some rather worn carpet elsewhere and polystyrene tiles on the ceiling.
The L-shaped bar counter itself is of a traditional dark wood design, with a shelf around the top for storing glasses. There are a number of bar stools here which seemed to be where most of the locals congregated. Some of their language was a little colourful.
I�d always perceived this as being a bit of a real ale Mecca in spite of it�s unusual location, but there didn�t seem to be that extensive a range on when I visited. The only two beers on tap were Rucking Mole and Bath�s Golden Hare. The board at the end of the bar also had Bombadier listed, but I think this had run out. Ciders were better represented with Thatcher�s Gold, Rich�s Farmhouse, Taunton Traditional and Blackthorn.

yeh went here into recently ,bar service was ok ,but only 2 beers on . quality was poor.

Arrived from london mid afternoon on a wednesday and popped in, had both Milestone beers on offer and chatted with some local customers and staff, seems fine to me and I enjoyed my brief time there. Will go in again on my next visit.

Quite how this place keeps appearing in the GBG must be one of lifes mysterys, the beer is well kept but you won't get the feeling you are welcome amongst the six fingered toothless locals.

visited here again . beer as per normal small but good choice of beer , excellently kept . customers unfriendly atmosphere , which wasn't helped by the couldn't care less attitude of the bar person.

Unusual place indeed. fantastic selection of beers on show, but the place is crying out for a refurb to perhaps make it into a proper pub as opposed to a room with beer in it. as mentioned in other comments, customers here tend to eye up unfamiliar faces, but i wouldnt say atmosphere was partucularly bad.

Good beer, 3 real ales including one from the local RCH brewery. Great location to meet at the start of our holiday. Food menu v limited sandwiches only. Both locals & bar staff slightly wiered

More or less echo Dandilus here , Beer was very good , place very small , and the locals were a bit too local .Also the landlord wanted to close about about 7.30 ,and the chairs were stacked up in the coffee side , giving the whole room an unwelcoming atmosphere . as said the beer wasn't bad , but do the locals really expect no strangers to visit a pub on a railway station , but perhaps i am missing something ,the camra lot seem to have a great enthusiasthm for the place.

Mmm - one of the more bizarre places. Very local, with one side of the place a cafe, and selling newspapers and rolls, and the other a bar. Eyed with suspicion by who I think was the LL and the local pond life. BUT, it was an excellent pint of RCH IPA and also serving 2 Quercas beers which I haven't come across before. Claustrophobic and felt relieved to leave.

Little oasis in the Weston desert. The Slug Porter was especially good last night. Wish I'd had longer than a 20 minute wait for my train. Friendly landlord too!

nice pint of rch old slug porter was quaffed here yesterday while waiting 4 delayed train home,also on offer was another rch beer and skinners cornish knocker.Good vale @ �2.60 . Toilets STUNK!! 6/10

Very small bar area. Enjoyed a lovely pint of real ale while sheltering from torrential August showers.

I called in here yesterday lunchtime,they had a sharpes ale on called french resistance which is brewed for the rugby world cup.I gotta say it was of excellent quality,a gem of a watering hole,while you wait for your train.

Three excellent, well-priced guest ales changed on a weekly basis. Although most of the clientele seem to drink lager or that send-you-crazy cloudy cider.
There are some right characters in here, oh, and a free jukebox. Reminds me somehow of the pubs my dad used to sneak me into in the sixties when I was still in short trousers. A real blast from the past.
