Sadly let down by the clientelle, not students, just general chavvies who insist on letting the whole pub hear their conversation. Beer/Cider was passable, but the garish yellow paint on the outside is hardly inviting to the casual passer by drinker. It's the sort of place youngsters go to and make one pint of beer last all night.

Just poor all round. Soulless and without many redeeming features. Oh well the barmaid that served me was very nice, there you go.

Im amazed when i drive by this pub the amount of people sitting outside its like they cant get enough been in once never again crap food full of students and crap drinks.

Crap food and crap beer. Why would you expect anything less for a �1 a pint. By the way I like students.

Cheap-drink-discount-card horrible place??? Its a student pub and student brand, hence discount drinks for students. If youre a student get yourself there, the only pub in loughborough dedicated to students!

Oh dear.
When it was The Phantom & Firkin this was a great pub. We used to go there a lot.
But now it's a cheap-drink-discount-card horrible place full of alcopops. Fine if you like that sort of thing, no good if you want to have a nice beer.

great drink offers nice bar staff (esp Lucy and pringle) great food from the chefs (john and luke)
