A pub to be missed. Beer awful, staff below average. The last 2 times I've been here theres been more staff than punters. Only a matter of time before O'Neills pull the shutters down.

the beer is poor, the service is poor, the food is poor.

other o'neill'ses in london are perfectly adequate pubs, this one is dreadful. walk past it and go to any other pub nearby for a much better beer in the evening.

Don't go here if you are foreign, expecially Asian. WE went last week and the manager was checking passports for anyone who wasn't British. Everyone in our group was obviously over 18. He wouldn't even accept German ID cards. I can come to Britain with an ID card but I can't drink a beer in O'Neills with it. The manager was coming out with all sorts of explanations/laws which my British friend said was rubbish. Not a friendly atmosphere.

went for lunch here. I work in a pub and its nice to get your table service provided for you but not to be interrupted every 5 mins when you are trying to eat, the staff were tripping over themselves. your labour costs must be thru the roof!!!

Superior version of a normal O'Neill's that is convenient for a West End drink but is tucked just far enough away from the main crush so as to be a little less busy and therefore more comfortable than most pubs in the area.
Mixed clientele and no evidence of either snobbery or thuggery, so a nice place to settle into with your companions.
Service was first class; friendly, quick and they even offered table service when it was quiet!
Prices are as you'd expect for such a prime location and the beer is excellent particularlt the draft Heineken. The window seats are also excellent for watching the world go by, but the sofas are very comfy if you don't fancy perching on a stool all night. Background music is bland and inoffensive with a slightly Irish theme but that seems to be the extent of the entertainment.
Well worth a visit.

Quite a nice pub if you have a group of friends with you. The night we were in there the heating packed up so it was a tad chilly sitting there! Usual beers on tap like Guiness and Caffreys but I had Amstel which was 2.65 a pint. Toilets were clean and well kept and the chicken and mushroom pie I had was ok for which I had to wait about 15 minutes for. Not the best pub in the area but you could do worse too.

Went here for a lunchtime pint today. Asked them to put the TV on to watch the Ashes celebration at Trafalgar Square, only to be told rudely that it was company policy only to show matches and not celebrations.

In the evening, this place isn't too bad. However, it's no surprise that it was deserted at lunchtime given the rude crap service.

Queues are likely after 10pm. Went through quickly though. Great music although very crowded on dance floors. Bar staff busy but friendly. Punters very friendly, particularly if squaddies are in! A good saturday night out.

This place rivals the Fighting Cocks in Kingston for aggressive last orders enforcement. We went there last week and they rang the bell *five times*, first time at 2250, second at 2255 at which point they told us we had just 15 minutes to drink up.

.....oh and I'm not finished....Bass or whoever owns in were quick enough to jump on the Fashionable Irish bandwagon of the late 90's....why not call 100 of your pubs "Irish pubs" in the 70s?????

Statistics tell us that 1 in every 8 folk in London are Irish. Im one of them and the O'Neill's in Wardour St is not reflective of Irish people, Ireland, Irishness or whatever. Ireland is a contemporary,model-economy, progressive country and its London Irish population simply dont attend these pubs to get their identity...there is none. This O'Neill's in Soho does well because its at the centre of the busiest few streets in the western world...the service and standards are woefully poor and staff, including doorstaff are rude and non-welcoming.Irish folk just blank them really and its about time they simply stripped the name...the fashion is gone!

I have fond memomries of this pub. It was there for me and my mate after we saw 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' at the cinema opposite. Half-dazed and emotionally drained, we stumbled into this place and ordered a couple of stiff double Southern Comforts. We were ok after that. I owe this pub a debt of gratitude.

Opposite the 'Covent Garden' Odeon, I tended to view this as one of those freak quiet pubs in London - marginally off the beaten track - until I sat there one day as the theatres disgorged hordes of middle-aged tourists from Eccles. Don't know why they complain about "youngsters". They made a bloody racket.

I've always wondered what Irish people make of O'Neills. Presumably not much.
