If you are looking for a meal, don't bother with this carvery style pub. Staff not interested in providing any kind of proper service. Food served barely warm, with the cauliflower "rock hard" The Crown Carvery have much better outlets elsewhere, such as Brighton Withdean, Peacehaven and Saltdean. This appears to be a place that they and time have forgot about.

A place for out of work lay-abouts during the daytime sessions reading their low class newspapers like the "Star". typical of the general area I suppose.

A bit of a 'builder's bar' and during the early part of the evening frequented by those covered in paint and plaster (so watch where you sit down!) Beer is reasonably priced and bar staff are pleasant. There is a budget type carvery to the rear of the pub which when I last ate there was not too bad.

good pub and the carvery is great value during the week.

Popped into this pub at 22:50 and they had already called time. I have never understood why they do that?

There was no real ale on in this Pub and Carvery so we just had the meal. It was OK for the price I suppose but I have had better. Didn't bother with a drink as we were doing the real ale trail and were saving ourselves for the delights to come.

A pint of Spitfire was only 2 a pint, thought I was getting a very good bargain untilI tasted it. Too cold ansd served like lager!!
Probably okay if you're a lager or spirit drinker and having a meal, but not for a 'real' beer drinker.
