Now known as The Black Dog and is much smarter than in the picture. The bar area is very small, there doesn’t appear to be another bar and the four customers sitting around a table pretty much packed the place out. They had the usual Amstel and Thatchers cider on tap although the real ale pumps were covered over so either it’s not worth selling or it had run out,I think the first option is the correct one. Situated right by a main road and as with other pubs I’ve commented on there is little local trade to rely on.A nice pub and worth a couple of ciders in the massive beer garden overlooking the beautiful Dorset countryside

I visited this pub today whilst out with my family. We decided to have sunday lunch here and am so glad we did. The staff we're very friendly and helpful. Very informative about the menu which had plenty of choice on it. All the food was homeade. We all opted for the roast of the day and it was very enjoyable. The puddings were nice too. The only thing i would say is we all could've eaten a little more veg. Drinks were reasonable in price and the bitter very very enjoyable. Will certainly be calling in again.

Holidayed nearby in converted church. Closed on first visit (at least the opening hours were displayed outside), I was one of only 2 punters on second visit. The beer was like vinegar and the staff were rude. I had 3 sips of my beer and left. Avoid.

Had lunch here the other day. The food was okay and the beer was good, Yeovil Brewery Summerset. Friendly and helpful staff. We were allowed in with the dog and ate in the public bar, which was a bit tired, although clean. Like most pubs in Purbeck the food is largely overpriced for what it is, although, for once, the beer was under 3 quid a pint. Nothing much to complain about, but nothing much to rave about either. Food's not good enough to make it a destination eaterie and the location doesn't help, but if you want a simple meal and a decent pint you could do a lot worse.

Stopped off here for a drink and a meal last summer. The food was exceptionaly good and the landlady was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The pub itself has bags of character.
