Glad to see the Cavendish is open again. Have often stopped here for a pint or three when visiting friends or watching the football. Not everyones cup of tea but I like it as it's a good little boozer. Will be looking forward to trying the breaksfast soon.

The Cavendish has re-opened! May 2010. New cheaper prices. Accomodation. And full engish breakfasts from 8am.
|
And closed again, January 2010. This time for good, I believe - going to be converted to a fast food outlet
|
And opened again, November 2009

Now closed

Nearly got lynched on a recent visit. Was asked wy I was "filming" and if I was working undercover for Greater Manchester Police. No real ales, so didn't stop for a drink.
|
Obviously been re-fitted recently, as it's a weird sort of trendy-type pub. The decor is quite bland, but there was a good atmosphere on my visit, and despite the minimal selection the beer was OK. Aside from one extremely drunk gentleman rather vociferously attempting to insist to me that the apocalypse was nigh, the clientele seemed rather laid back. If you're in the area then it's probably a better shout than the Church Inn round the corner, but it's not worth going out of your way for.

Just re-opened under new management after been shut for a bit.
Couple of gay blokes running it now.
Night I was in there was only them and a couple of their friends in,but suppose will take a while for the word to get round it`s open again.

Hey Hey Hey!!!
The Cavendish Rocks!!!!!
Acoustic nights are brilliant, anyone can join in, everyone feels welcome. Everyone is there to have a good sing along and chat to meet new ppl!
Had a burger and homemade chips on Sat...WOW!!! Best burger EVER!!
|
Went along to the acoustic night to see what all the fuss was about - what a gem of a night! The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and anyone can get up and have a go whether they can sing or not. For all you open mic fiends they hold the night pretty much every other Thursday, and for you live music peeps they have a live band night at the end of every month.
There was a good choice of draught beers which you wouldn't normally see in a smaller pub like this, and some really good offers - who can complain at 1.50 a pint! This pub is now my local - they also do food at weekends, all home cooked too which is a rarity these days (try the burgers, not had one this good in years, believe me!), and the most gorgeous sunday dinners! (the lamb is to die for!)
Also has a pool table, plasma screen for football and the most addictive games ever on the gaming machine!! Also, and this is a BIG bonus in Manchester - a BEER GARDEN!
So when you go to the Cavendish pop outside - no doubt I'll be there sunning myself all summer! Fantastic pub!

Nice place to sit with a few friends. Beers ok, but no ales and only extra cold guiness.

Previously called Clyne`s Wine Bar and a bit of a dump.Since been done up last year has improved no end.A good mix of friendly locals and students.
Beer isn`t that cheap but not outragous by any means.
Cracking jukebox, pool table and all the Premiership games shown on a decent sized TV.
Open late most(maybe all) nights. Also have a quiz night and an open mike night, when anyone can get up and have a go on the guitar.Think that`s Thursdays.
Also do reasonably priced, decent food in the day.
Only a small place but friendly and well worth a visit.
