I think the comments need an update. The house beers are no longer Tunnel (long gone), but Sperrin, brewed on the premises. Visited last week twice: a warm welcome, the front bar is very nice, and enjoyed the Head Hunter beer. Food was good pub fare, generous portions, reasonable prices.

Nautical theme throughout friendly pub, with 4 good ales including 2 from local breweries. Also hosts ale festival. Separate restaurant also serving food. Bar service good.

I couldn't really warm to this pub. The interior was a little dark and dreary. Although the weather outside did nothing to help matters. The front bar was supplemented by another to the rear and a function room that had some kind of party on. The rugby and subsequently the football on the TV was the focal point in the front bar. Beers were Tunnel Late OTT Bitter, Grubber Golden Bitter & Legend Bitter, plus Wychwood Hobgoblin & Taylor Landlord. Service was disinterested. The nautical theme adds a little character to the place and the beers are certainly a reason to visit. But I didn't feel at home here.

Although kind of in the middle of nowhere on the edge of a village this pub has an estate look to it. The signs outside make it look like a kind of tacky takeaway. On entering the 70's regenerated nautical theme tends to add to that feel but the relatively friendly locals and excellent beer dispel that feel before long. Has about three or maybe four areas but the front bar area has a definite old fashioned public bar feel to it. The Tunnel beers are excellent and the Late OTT has edged into my current favourite top 10 of beers. Another pub near the 717 bus route and also the 17 from Nuneaton. Not somewhere to visit for it's architectural merits but definitely worth dropping in to for the beer.

Although the general atmosphere in this pub is nice, the food is ok, there is a definite issue for vegetarian diners. The menu states that their fish dishes are suitable for vegetarians. Fish is not suitable for vegetarians, when I approached the manager on duty about my concerns I was told that this was my "opinion". However, this is also the opinion of the UK Vegetarian Society, the Food Standards Agency and all other vegetarians I know. This pub is fine for meat eaters, but does not welcome vegetarian visitors with a smile.

My local, so I'm biased, but the Tunnel Brewery continues to impress with a stable of more than 6 cask and bottled ales. Full A La Carte or Bar meal menu's with lots of 'Specials' and a Sunday lunch that is reasonably priced for 4 courses and very popular so booking is advisable. Beer festival held at the August Bank holiday weekend with around 20 ales.

This is a really nice pub just outside Nuneaton in a little "village". It is home of the recently formed Tunnel Brewery, whoi have been brewing for six weeks or so now and the beer is fantastic! The tria; brew was a success, styled like Timothy Taylor Landlord and the other beers are going so well too that the brewery is overwhelmed and overworked!!! Pub itself does great food and has a lovely restaurant. Well worth a visit, but get someone else to drive!!
