Visited this week and was very pleasantly surprised. Very quiet, despite the two nearest pubs being rammed full. Had only one ale on which was a shame but I was assured that normally there was at least one other. Price ok at 2.85 a pint, had two very nice pints of Hammerpot Bottle Wreck Porter. Music at a good level. Very clean which of course you would expect with the pub being quiet. Didn't check how clean the toilets were. The real reason I rate this pub so highly was the very friendly assistant manageress (Melis I think) exactly what bar staff should be. If all the staff are this friendly then this pub should be a lot busier. Hopefully others will discover this hidden gem!!

Sadly not what it was,AVOID.

Its a great pity that a pub in such a prominent position has been allowed to be run down by the current management. The exterior of the building is decaying and will require a considerable amount of investment to rectify and once inside things are not much better, no hot water or soap in the gents and I understand the ladies isn't much better, all in all it's pretty grim, check out the carpet before you order a drink!

...last comment I left was a year ago- if you were to walk into this bar with a crowd of infants shouting obscene terms, vomiting and urinating whilst being blind drunk and spilling your beer all over the floor youd probably be one of the better behaved customers

Used to be one of the best pubs in Kemp Town, now sadly isn't!

Average street corner pub with only one real ale (Harveys)

Yes, I like it too!

Can't belive no one has reviewed this pub. Good atmosphere, nice pub, good staff and loads of single women. Well worth a visit.
