Closed, gone, no more Half Brick half demolished.

Steel shutters down looks like it might rise from the ashes. !

Went to meet an Old School buddy for a pint on 13th June 2009. Got to the pub and all the windows were blocked by steel security screens and it looked like it had shut down. Luckily there was another boozer a few hundred yards North so we went there. Pity, because the 1/2-Brick offers a nice sea view.

Great pub - but closed at present; don't know why.

I was at this pub about 3 years ago and the publican and his wife were the nicest people I have ever met. It is for this reason that I stayed for a couple of months. I have since been living back in Australia (my home country) and have traveled alot thoughout the world and still have not found a pub that comes close to the hospitality and friendlyness of the Brick. I am heading back to Worthing in May and will definately be stopping in for more then one beer and hopefully some of that beautiful food and catch up with some of the fantastic people that can be found enjoying the beautiful scenery and cold beer.

Returned after a 6-month absence for Sunday lunch. Still impressed by decor, ambience, landlord and very chirpy barmaid/waitress.

As a local a couple of facts need clearing up here. The landlord is not a cockney and may possibly be offended by the suggestion that he is. Also, the connection with the George and Dragon was via the then leaseholder. The current landlord, (who is now also the leaseholder) had nothing to do with the desecration of the George and Dragon.

I'm a frequent visitor for Sunday luch and the menu is excellent. Cheerful and helpful bar staff and the last time I was there Mum had the kids all pitching in to help. Cockney landlord is larger than life and has good ideas about music. Very good choices of proper beer.

I think the landlord has done OK with this one, worth a visit and I hear the food is very good. I think this is the same landlord that destroyed the George and Dragon in Tarring, previously one of the best pubs in Sussex. He has done a better job with this earlier venture.

Good landlord for music! Plays great stuff himself on the harmonica.
Always trying new bands. Check out 15th Sep 2005 for a great local Eagles band - Flyin' Eyes.
Also owns the Waterfront pub a mile down the road that also has good food, music and a much improved atmosphere.
