Proper owners in charge now.Good quality food, real ale and a real cider.Previous punters who had "issues" are gradually departing leaving very good pub with garden and regular live music.Well worth checking out.

New owners are experienced and have turned matters around .Food is good and reasonably priced . Place is tidy and staff nice. Looking forward to sitting in the garden in the summer.

Now reopened with a holding manager. Local opinion views the prospect of turning the site into social housing as too tempting.
|
Sadly as predicted- now closed for the forseeable future.I suspect the propertyu given its size will be turned into (social) housing.

When Tony Harriss had it,this was a pleasant well managed pub. It is sad to see it being run by people who do not appear to have the slightest idea of how to run a pub and who appear loathe to get out of bed and do a days work. Their days(in the trade) are presumably numbered. Avoid unless you are doing some kind of anthropological study.

Its true that the beer was undrinkable then but now it is better. The staff are friendly and food has gotten better. Nowadays there is always someone playing on Saturdays nights. Well worth a visit!

Under new management of a family new to the trade - all too obvious. Almost unbelievably the quality of the beer has fallen to below the previous "just drinkable" level. BEST AVOIDED , at least for the time being

Nice pub, well run. Public bar best , good beer, staff OK. Not in the best part of town but most of the local riff raff have been bared so it's now quite a nice place for a pint.
