Dont know how someone named benefitcheat has the greatest name to be calling somewhere a bum bar but thats just my opinion! Sams Bar is what it is a cheap, reliable and full of characters. When there is trouble its quickly resolved by the regulars which stands alone when explaining the place. wouldnt take my mother inlaw but many a good time has been had with the lads in there.

Should be re-named Bums Bar
fast service and consistent beer at value prices - ok not the most glamarous of places but its still very popular despite other low price venues opening, so it must be doing something right
If you are in business in Horwich and owed money by anyone, call in Sam's Bar, you'll find them there.
Had a couple in here today good cheap pint
Rarely any trouble because it's the 'Last Chance Saloon' for most of the customers. Do they still get the duty free tobacco deliveries?

with the best beer garden and prices within the area its always busy! tend to drink bottles of carling in there because its slightly safer than the draught but at 1.20 a bottle its as cheap as half anywere else! nice staff, nice regulars and rarely any trouble.

Much better in here now the smog has gone. The staff are spot on, I saw one not only ask a young lad for ID but hold it under the light to check it was genuine. A pity other pubs ih the town aren't as vigilant
What you see is what you get. No frills, cheap keg beer served efficiently and cheaply. Disturbing number of punters look like former PG Tips commercials actors.

Well, it's certainly a drinker's pub. Think of it as a petrol station for alcohol and you won't go far wrong. Always the second stop on the traditional Horwich pub crawl, get tanked up on cheap beer and doubles and toddle off on your wobbly way towards the Original Bay Horse..

Important update : don't go looking for the Ted Danson picture, it's not there, those days are gone.
Guaranteed to be busy at 11am in the morning!..
Certainly value for money, like the Ted Danson suit upstairs - could be promoted better as feature.
Cheers!
Of all the pubs I've been in that have photos of Ted Danson on the wall, this is the best.
Surprisingly good beer for around 1.30 a pint, the staff have been there for years and normaly ensure you won't be waiting long to be served.
Cheap and cheerful. Smoothflow beer perfectly drinkable - for the price you can hardly complain. Only criticism would be the lack of standing room on a Friday!
cheap and cheerful with pool table upstairs and live sky sports - with beer at these prices its always worth a visit
Prompt servioce from hard working staff
Small, cheap and with a huge Sky TV screen dominating. No real ale. Popular with elderly drunks who start supping at tea time.
