Talbot, Burnleyback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
The Talbot is uphill out of the town centre. But I thought it was worth the climb. As with the Bridge, the Talbot was packed with Burnley FC matchday fans. But getting served here was much easier. Head to the right-hand bar for the real ale selection. Naylors NYB, Rossendale Halo Pale, Moorhouses Premiership, Reedley Hallows Pendleside & New Laund Dark, JW Lees MPA, Copper Dragon Golden Pippin & Timothy Taylor Boltmaker were all on. Cider was Thatchers Heritage. TVs were showing live football and there was a small stage in one corner. With the Bridge Beer Huis being so difficult to judge, with it being unpleasantly crowded, I ended up rating the Talbot as my favourite pub of the day. By the way, if you're heading to the football ground, it's also worth stopping off at the KSC 110 Club. They charge 20p to get in. But they have a half decent selection of ales there too.

Central bar, serving several different rooms. Comfortable, with TVs, pool table & darts. Beer was first class. Stayed overnight in one of the four rooms - recommended.

After visiting the Brun Lea and Bridge Beer Huis this was my 3rd of the 4 I wanted to tick.
A short walk brings me to the Talbot which is a huge establishment located on the corner of a busy main road.
2 very different bar areas but both have pool tables in. This is very much a match day football pub and today was no exception half a dozen bar staff serving the thirsty hoards!
The 8 hand pumps each had a different ale on. Out of all of the choices I opted for a couple of pints of Tetley Gold Cask. Very good pint and again £2.00 a throw.
Very busy but as its so such a large pub there was plenty of room to find somewhere to stand. Football was on the large screen in the main area with it also on in the smaller room that had a stunning original tiled fireplace.
Another very nice pub with good ale and perfect for Turf Moor.

We thought this was a great pub. There was a wide selection of well-kept, cheap beer, a good atmosphere and friendly, efficient staff. Would be happy to visit it again if I'm in the area.

Lively and friendly, with a good range of localish beers (Moorhouses was pretty decent) on a night when live music was on. Worth a look.

Recently re-opened and renovated and what a good job they have done. 3 Thwaites Ales a Timmy Taylor's and Black Sheep, Wainwright's at �2 a pint. Well worth a visit, big spacious and comfortable pub.
