For your information I am not sad neither I am a "dinoasur."

If you want to comment keep clear of personal abuse.

There have been problems with badly behaved children in this pub before. Nothing changes. My comments reflect opinions shared by many that have used this pub but don't anymore.

What a dinosaur you are! Are you anti children ? Sure, there are some kids out there that are boisterous but I know that pub has dealt with issues previously. I'm sure they dealt with it on the day! Did you stay for the conclusion? Go home you sad person!

This is the worst pub I have been in for a long long time. Entered to find the bar taken over by a bunch of dead beats with kids running riot and the bar staff unable to do anything they said because the manager wasn't answering his phone. Kids roller skating and others bringing in fish and chips from the chip shop across the road. Most of the pubs in Paulsgrove (an adjoining areas) have closed down because of trouble caused by customers. This place is heading the same way.

Usually got a decent Real Ale available at competitive price, i.e. no more that 5p dearer than nearby Wetherspoons. Most bar staff friendly and helpful. Good outdoor seating in case we ever get another summer.

Unless you live within 20 yards of the red lion avoid like the plague. I have been living in cosham for just over a year now & none of the pubs are much cop. The Red Lion deserves a place in the least welcoming place list for 2011. The bar staff, all female i may add are about as surly as i have ever come across. This isnt based on 1 visit either because that would be unfair, so i made 3 visits to the red lion, On each ocassion i have greeted the bar staff with a hearty hello my love, which was answered by What do you want. I found myself using more please/thankyou than the bar staff Landlady included. The music is the choice of the bar staff & if they dont like something off it goes & that includes if you have put money in the jukebox. Basically what im saying is, if you want to be treated like dirt & pay for it this is the place for. Didnt try the food for fear the staff maight spit in it & im not joking.

came here 4 years ago when it was Mr Q's, lots of people in here you wouldn't want to drink with very rough. This is the first time I've come back. Came in with my neihbours and thier kids. I couldn't believe they were taking thier kids in this place... I was so surprised by how its changed. No pool tables anymore. its more like a food pub than anything else. The bar staff seemed relaxed and friendly even though they were busy which is good. the food was basic but amazing value 241. I never thought I'd say this but I'm happy to recomend it to anyone. Next week there is a band playing - I might come again!

went here expecting the worst as its in cosham! but was surprised. They had some decent real ales and a big 2 meals for 1 menu. Really cheap food but still better quality than a lot of pubs. Bar staff were friendly too. Needs more entertainment at night though. will bring my kids next time as they have a kids menu.

A LOT better since the refit.

Part of the 'Qs' chain. Newly refurbished. Cheapish drinks but no real ale, so loses out to nearby Wetherspoons in both respects. Loud music and many TVs, free pool some nights.
